I'm not married yet, but we are talking about a time frame to get hitched though.

Hi there,

I should have worded it different. Because you have to date, before you get married. So yes that does count.

It has been a little difficult meeting men with similar interest and who are tired of playing games.

So, i'm thinking about just checking into something like that and I just wanted some feedback.

Yep, i met my sweet husband on blackplanet. Maybe 5yrs ago. We been married since April of 2006. He's the most intelligent man i have ever known, so i hope you find it refreshing that yes there are good guys online. I have a girlfriend in Raleigh that also met her hubby on blackplanet. as well as a girlfriend in PA that is dating a guy and they are talking marriage. (but yet i also know lots of ladies who only met jerks...so please be sensible and careful).
 
I met DH 3 yrs ago on match.com
He signed up there because his buddy found his wife there.

I met alot of jerks first tough and some random hook-ups
 
Yep, even wrote a bestseller based on the experience. It wasn't like the sites you mentioned though.

We've been married going on 6 years this September:)

I know, i cant believe it either. My sister just showed me a pic of a guy who IM'd her. He had on a cowboy hat, no shirt and a fur coat and he had the nerve to have this look on his face like he was sessy. tooo funny....

I met my husband on yahoo, and it will be 8yrs that we have been together this year.:D We met while in our last year of high school, in a chat room on there (when they use to be really popular), and dated all through college. We got married in Feb 06.

I haven't been on yahoo in a while. I actually did come across some decent guys on there back in the day.

BP- man, I've been on there at different points in my life and each time it felt like nothing more than an online meat market, just folks trying to find "friends with benefits".

Same here ! I had no idea so many ppl have met and married from online !

Just be careful ladies. I remember one lady meeting a guy and he decapitated her. Sorry so explicit, but just want you guys to be careful.

Being careful is always a good idea. How many women have met the men who later killed them at the club, at the grocery store or in philosophy 101?

My sister met her husband on blackplanet maybe 8 years ago. They have been married for years now... just welcomed a new baby girl 1 month ago.

My gf started dating this guy and married him, she would never tell us where she met him at....and then like 6 years later she said off the net. Cool
 
How did you all break it to your family that you met someone from the net? How did they take it? I've known people to think that people who do the online stuff are crazy, desperate, etc.

That is why I think my gf hid it from us so long. Her mom took awhile to come around. She said any little thing her dh does, her mama is like "well that's what you get for meeting someone off the net":lol:

I think now it is so normal that most people don't even bat their eyes to it. I met my SO online, and when I people ask I tell them and they say, "oh that's nice." But with anyone, I also give my Mom and BFF and Cousin the full name and phone number. :lachen: But that is just me..
