Guys, I just strolled upon this documentary on You Tube and did a search and was surprised to see it hadnt been mentioned here before....

Aaron Ranen's Black Hair Documentary

It's a very interesting view of the black hair care industry. It has 4 parts, I think, it's definately very engaging. They talk about how Koreans and other groups are taking over the black hair market - which is worth over $10 Billion dollars a year... It shows how our money is not being put back into our community and products made by us for us... Again, it's a great forum for discussion... After watching it what do you think?

Hey Foxieroxienyc,

I read about this a while ago and that's what made me decide to start my own black owned hair beauty supply online first then hopefully I can open a retail store.

They are at times nasty to us when we come into their stores and it's not right. I do think however that black people aren't interested in the hair bss business anymore either and that's why it was easy for the asians to come in and make it their industry.

So at times I can't really be mad at them because we allowed this to happen.

I think more of us need to take back the bss industry and offer affordable products and good customer service.
