NEVER!
I am with naturalmanenyc I don't buy into that theory either, that older women should wear short hair. I have seen younger women that look better with short hair and older women that look better with longer hair.
For example have you all seen Victoria Rowell former actress from the Young and Restless lately. She looks stunning, she looks just as beautiful as ever at age 51 with waist length hair. And I absolutely love Halle Berry and in my opinion looks better with very short hair.

Well since I only started really taking care of my hair about 3-4 years ago and I'm almost 60, I'll keep growing it to see how long it can grow :yep:.

I will never stop growing out my hair. I plan to let it grow as long as it wants to get. No limitations!

I think after i reach 25 or 30 i'll be done with growing it out...just maintaining my length...i don't want hair to the floor:nono:

I'm about MBL, so I'm getting to the point where I dont want it to grow any longer, but as far as maintaining my healthy ways, that will never end. I plan to trim regularly in order to maintain MBL, but still practice healthy hair care forever :yep:.

Well, I just turned 50, and I'm still growing my hair out. So to be safe, I voted "70 and beyond." :lachen:

Seriously, I plan to maintain at full hipbone; l'm "right at" waistlength now. I guess I'll be growing for at least another year or so, since I'll be trimming more to maintain thick/healthy ends. I see women with hair down to their butts, but the thickness stops at their waist...I don't want to be one of those people. :nono:

I will stop at hip length hair and won't try to grow it out any more than that (I think). Once I reach high 70's I will probably cut MBL and just concentrate on being HOT LOL

I'll grow until I reach full BSL and then maintain... I'm 23 so I'm hoping that by the time I'm 25-26 I'll be there.

Whenever I get too old and tired to take care of it. I know a lot of older women cut their hair when they get older because they can't hold that dryer up for 30 minutes after they wash. Or it could be their health is deteriorating and they just don't want to deal with it. In either case, when I reach that point, I will probably start wearing some fly wigs. I hope that is not anytime soon though.

I fully plan on be a fun and sassy granny so I said between 60-70 yrs old.
70 is what I consider to be gettin up there in age and I can't imagine sporting pony tails at 70.
Hmmm... Now I'm trying to think of how all my fashion and style icons where their hair during their golden years.

I do know I'll def. go natural by then, I don't ever see 70 year old women getting relaxers!

Hey!.... why is 30-40 up there? Is that old??:look::blush:
I am 38 now. I plan to stop when I reach WL...so that will be sometime. I voted 40-50. hopefully. 391/2, if Im lucky.

Well, I have spiritual reasons for wearing my hair long and maintaining the length, so I can definitely see myself being 70+ having long hair as long as its still healthy and not too thin. My grandma has waist length, wavy & thick, salt 'n pepper hair and is 66. I told her I'm tryna be fly like her when I hit 66! :)

I don't plan to stop retaining longer lengths ANY time soon. As long as I am abled to maintain healthy hair...hey I'm going to keep growing it....unless I have a change of heart and want to go shorter later.

I agree with the ladies who mentioned some older women with longer hair who look
great, I didn't even know Victoria R. was even 51! ( I saw her on The Monique Show) I think Oprah looked cute before she cut hers.

I think it sometimes depends on the person. Everything AIN'T for EVERYBODY.

I selected 70 and beyond. Basically till the day I die.

1: It's fun! I love pampering myself.
2: I want a long, flowing head of beautiful gray afro textured hair.

I voted 40-50, but that's not written in stone. I'm 39 now, and just got to APL. I'm of the opinion that you should (if you want) grow to the length that is comfortable for you to maintain. If I find that length to be MBL, then that's where I'll stay. If I want to go longer, then we'll see. I expect to make MBL long before 50, but you never know; I might up and decide to do a pixie cut (unlikely, I don't have the bone structure to pull that off). I agree with previous posters that short hair can prematurely age some women, while some can rock it forever.

Another question then, is do you still plan on using the same hair regiments even in your later years, such as bunning, braidouts, no poo, conditioning wash, etc.

I am getting near 40 and ladies, I am tired. I love my hair but I do not khow if I will keep maintain the status quo in 10 more years.

I do not think it is old but we have some younger people up- that is what I take into consideration. Shoot, I am 37 years old old and most days do not feel a day over 25.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Could'nt said it better myself! Very well stated!

I keep saying 50 but that's just a few years away and I'll have to see.

I'll stop when I seriously don't have the energy to deal with length anymore or if I can find someone to do it for me that I trust.
