Question: What is the Bootcamp method?

There are quite a few of us signed up for this challenge which is great. We can cheer each other on. We CAN do this!! I for one have been shoulder length for the longest time and I want to crack it once and for all. ;)

Thanks for the thread on the BootCamp Method. I would also love to reach APL; I have been SL for over a year now. I know the reasoning behind this now(relaxing to much and hair brushing against clothing causing breakage). I just have to get use to the protective styles for the next 6 months. French rolls and roller sets may become my best friends in the new year. In addition, I just started as of today to track the progress with pictures.

I'd love to join this challenge too. I'm about 1 or 2 inches below shoulder length. I need about 2-3 to be armpit length. I'd absolutely LOVE to be there by June although my hair grows soo slowly.

I plan to weave or wear braids during this time and moisturize daily with Biolage leave-in or S-curl.

Sulfur 8 once a week after a wash.

Vitamins daily
Plenty of excercize, fruit and vegetables.

Good luck ladies!

Count me in!

I'm a newbie and trying to get my act together :)
I need to develop and refine a routine, so for now, the big strategy includes:
  • Only air dry or roller set
  • Drink water, water, water ...
  • Photo journal my progress
  • Minimal manipulation (keep my hands off)
  • Satin scarf or bonnet at night
  • HEALTHY hair (healthy ends, thicker/stronger hair, moisture)

Dangit, I'm already dropping out!! :ohwell:

OK, so I'm going to chalk this up to inexperience and blindness -- I'm already APL (wet, combed through), plus I'm in month 6 or 7 of stretching my relaxer.

I'm going to jump in on the BSL challenge for 2007. Let's make this year a great hair care year!!

Count me in! I am so stuck on shoulder mode! I need help!

My major problem is I don't like to deep condition.
But I really am overdue for serious protein treatment. I want to try henna too.

After I do the above I'll keep braids as a protective style and keep my hair well conditioned.

As growth aids I'll continue to use my shemu oil,or my combo of emu and MTG. I'll also exercise and eat foods that encourage growth!

My vitamin regime will include Andrew Lessman vitamins Flax seed oil.

Let's make it happen for the '07.

Happy new year!!! I am definently in, gotta get this hair back on track as well. I will continue my weekly wash and conditioner...I am always experimenting with condtioners. I do daily massages, and keep my hair very moisturized. the only thing I can see being a set back is the fact that I just got some red streaks, so I must keep my hair moisturized and wear protective styles. this year I will finally get some pictures up, hopefully in the next couple weeks. happy and healthy hair year to all:D ,

I'm in.

To do this I need to...

Moisturize and take my vitamins daily
Drink more water
Include lots of protein in my diet
Keep hair in braids/wrap them in scarf at night
Start using MTG again

I hoping for APL by June.

I'm in

I will be baggying consistently (95% of the time)
Moisturising/sealing daily (profectiv breakfree on its own or mixed with healthy ends, seal with WGHO or castor oil))
Deep conditioning every week
Little/no combing
henna every month
Stretching for a minimum of 8 weeks

Hope to achieve Apl by June

I'm in!

I'm going to keep my ends moisturised and better protected. I'm also going to start on some vits (not sure which ones yet). I'm going to comb less as well.

I've been back and forth whether to join this challenge or not...but I can pray for 3 inches between now and June. I think I might be able to do it if the hair forces cooperate and I can retain.

Please add me to the list.:)

ETA: I WILL NEED ALL THE WAY UNTIL JUNE 30TH...*LOL*

I'm in as well (if it's not too late). I'll be adding pics to my fotki later today so that I can track my progress.

I'm aiming to do the following:
-no heat
-take my vitamins regularly
-eat properly
-exercise at least 5 times a week
-low manipulation--protective hairstyles regularly via bunning, braids or phony ponies.
-moisturize and seal every morning and evening
-deep condition weekly
-wash hair weekly.
-Get one or two trims before June
