2017 Hair Growth And Weight Loss Challenge (jan-dec)

I stayed hungry all day even though I kept eating. I weighed myself this morning and promised myself that it's the last day I would weigh that much.

I ate sensibly today. I ran the stairs at work a couple of times. I did wall push ups during my bathroom breaks. I was extra busy at work so I didn't get my walk in. But I came home and rode my bike for 45 minutes.

I start my triathlon training on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it. This training should get me in shape.

Went swimming today and.thought.I.would.die.

That is all.

 Good deal, lady! I'm impressed!

Health/Fitness
Today was cardio, so DS#1 and I sprinted-walked-jogged-walked-sprinted-walked-jogged-walked-etc. for 20 minutes. Then we played basketball (H-O-R-S-E) until DS#2 needed attention. (I got an "H" and he didn't get anything, and he was very proud of that.)

Hair
I've had my hair in 10 twists all week. I can't believe it, but I've worn my wavy bob wig on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and today (Thursday). But tonight is an inaugural meeting of my city's Women Rocking Naturals meetup. I just couldn't see myself showing up in a wig.

So, I just rinsed my 10 twists under shower water, and then one by one did the following to each twist:
  1. removed excess water with a microfiber towel,
  2. applied Soultanicals Twist Assist,
  3. brushed the prouct through with the KareCo Tangle Buster Brush (it was a breeze!),
  4. retwisted, and
  5. removed any excess product.
I'm now sitting under my HairFlair. I can give it an hour and 15 minutes until 5:15, then I have to untwist and style. I hope it dries! If it doesn't, it will look like an elongated wash-and-go versus a twist-out, and I'll just rock that.

Bought my running shoes today. Looking forward to trying them out. I rode my trainer Tuesday and Today and got in a good hour. I'm going to the swim center tomorrow to set up some private swim lessons. This extra exercise is really taming my appetite.

So I have a plan for my eating and exercise. I'm not doing anything with my hair. :ohwell: I'm hoping it will benefit from all of this exercise and outdoor activity.

@YvetteWithJoy, thank you, I'm trying to do better, but some days its hard.
@faithVA, I do think my hair is coming along, hopefully, I will be waist length by Dec.

Gym update:
Soooooo, because I'm not taking classes at my university during the summer but at a community college, I have to pay 75 to use for the rest of the summer. Yeaaa no, I just can't afford that right now. I not saying it not worth, my school activiy center is bomb. Access to two pool, cardio area, weight area, indoor track, basketball court, discount massages and a brunch of other stuff.I"m going to be moving into my apart in August and I need to save for that, so I need to figure something out.

I started training for my triathlon on Saturday. Today I got myself out the bed and did a walk-run combo for 30 minutes. My fat thighs are screaming. I'm cycling in the morning. I will get signed up for my swim lessons some time this week and start next week.

I will be too tired to worry with my hair which is a good thing.

We just moved and there's still work to do at both places. That will be my activity until we get settled. I got almost 25000 steps the day we moved!

I weighed in at 161 yesterday, so I guess the fast food hasn't completely ruined my body.

With the training, I'm down a pound this week. I'm still not under 150  Hopefully I can drop a pound every 4 days. I have triathlon training tomorrow (cycling/running) and then I need to come home and cut the grass.

I'm trying henna in my hair tonight. Will see how that goes. I have swim lessons now on Mondays and Wednesdays so I will have to do my hair twice a week  Will have to see how that goes too. I'm going to have to find some fast and simple way to put it up.

How's everyone doing? Hopefully everyone is on track and just enjoying the summer.

I gained a lot of weight doing who knows what and the holiday didn't help. So I'm back on my eating plan. No carbs on my non workout days and carbs only for breakfast for my workout days. I may have a piece of fruit before I work out in the evenings. My weight hasn't changed but my body is getting stronger and my legs are much more toned. I think as I become a better swimmer I will really see some improvements in strength. I also think once I can regularly run 3 miles that is going to do fabulous things for my stomach.

As far as my hair, I'm sticking to washing it once a week after my Wednesday class. I'm still just keeping it in flat twist during the week. I can do about 7 flat twists and it takes me less than a half hour which is great. My hair stays fuzzy with the working out so I'm not spending too much time with it.

I being faithful with my supplements and doing my eco drink supplement on cycling days. I wanted to buy some bamboo tea but I'm going to wait until after my August length check to see how if this training has any impact on my growth rate.

I'm happy with my workouts. I may need to drop money on a gym membership to keep this training up during the winter. We shall see.

I have been posting everywhere else but here. I totally forgot this challenge. I will be back to posting here again.

I'm just doing a bit more cardio now. Walking home after work, walking my 14 flights of stairs at work, doing skipping at home- i add 100 to my previous 100 every day with 15 sec rest between. So this evening I'm supposed to do 900 as i did 800 yesterday. I am trying to limit meat to 1 week for the month. That's the plan i purposefully set in my phone, so far it's been 2 days per week but I'm not complaining.
Hair is in crochet braids. Moisturizing everyday. Hoping to keep it in for the month.

Success: When i put on my work suit this morning and I'm saying "Wow, this pants feels slack!" Then as I enter the office and before i can even put my bag on my desk a coworker shouts my name from across the office, runs over eyes bulging out of her head to compliment me on getting/looking slimmer. Cha-ching!!
Congratulations @BellaRose on your weight-loss efforts. Keep it up and in no time you will be at your perfect weight.

As for me, I've been consistent with my exercises for the past 3 weeks and this morning I got up and did this workout which was intense but very doable for me:

I am currently going through the 'The Shredded Chef' cookbook by Michael Matthews and so far I like what he has to say about losing weight. I will follow the recipes in his cookbook with a little modification and see what happens after 3 months. If it is working for me, then I'll get a few more of his books.

Has anyone else been eating everything and anything for weeks? Just me? Ok...

I'm kinda scared to even weigh in. I'm ready for my itworks wraps to get here, so I can tame this belly. Why does chocolate taste so good anyway?!

:Yay. That's the way to start the week.

:bighug: Eat more veggies to see if it can break you out of that endless loop. Im sure most of us have been there.
Don't worry. We all have been there. Just dust yourself off and try again.
4 for the count. I've been there more than I care to admit. But let's just get back up and start again. Everyday is a new day that gives us the opportunity to get this thing right.

Netflix and working out early don't mix

I stayed up too late binging and then didn't want to get up. I got up an hour late but I still did my cycling. I just forced it in.

I dropped a little weight and starting to tone. Maybe i can drop under 150 by the weekend.

I'm hoping dropping some extra weight will improve my cycling and running times.

Thanks@ BellaRose
