Grow and retain at least 3 -6 inches of healthy hair. I think my hair will look perfect with 3-6 more inches. I always picture/imagine it when I'm looking at my hair :). Continue to baby my ends and make sure they are moisturized, sealed, and tucked away at least half of the time. Continue to avoid direct heat or keep it to a very minimum ( just for micro trims or once a month or less). Continue to avoid hair dye and just keep on doing what I've been doing. I'm glad that I found oil rinses because they have been great with retaining length, moisturizing my ends, detangling my ends, and keeping my hair healthy.

I've already reached my first mini milestone of "Whip" length! :reddancer: this month.

My next goal is to grow it to Hip Length. And then every 2 to 3 months I'm going to trim off an inch to help thicken up my hemline until I have a nice and fuller looking U-shape :)

I should be done with growing out my hair in about 2 months and then I'll be in maintenence mode. I've been waiting on this since 2011!

- Keeping my ends constantly moisturized with lots of water-based products.Once my ends are moisturized, detangling becomes a breeze which means more retention.

- Not trimming. I'm on a no trim challenge and hope to not trim until 2017.

- Finding my staple hair oils.

My 2016 Hair Goals are:

1. Be more gentle with my hair.

2. Baby my ends.

3. Gain & retain 6 inches.

4. Reach MBL.

5. Be more confident about my natural hair and wear it out at least once quarterly.

6. Reduce my product stash.

GOALS 1 & 2 = I have been doing a great job with these goals so far.

GOAL 6 = I finished my Curly Kinks DC today.

I have been doing a good job with my weekly washes and using my growth aid 3x a week. I'm looking forward to straightening my hair in a couple weeks for my honey's bday.

I have two main goals for 2016 (for my hair)

MY ENDS! I want to baby them more so that I have greater length retention.

Not sure if this will happen this year but I want my hair to hang below my chest with just stretched hair and not straighten hair

GOALS 1 & 2: I am still doing really well on these goals. As a result, I have found that I am more patient with knots and have been working most of them out without having to cut.

GOAL 6: I started out this year with 47 products I wanted to use up and as of today, I am down to 40. It looks like I may be able to get rid of 3 or 4 more products before this month is over.

Having goals worked well for me in 2015 so my 2016 goals are:
  • Grow my upper layers to APL
  • Take my multivitamin
  • Keep my hair stretched
  • Keep sectioning my hair as I cleanse
  • Keep reducing my hair care stash
  • Thicken my edges
I've been taking my multivitamin consistently. I'm almost done with my bottle. My upper layers are just past my collarbone so it's doing what it does.
I actually added two deep conditioners so I need to work on that goal. :blush2:

I massaged my scalp with sulfur oil today and I will moisturize my ends tomorrow. I want to dust my ends Sunday so I might buy a cutting comb

thicker hair regime: drink 8oz of carrot juice a day and a 12 oz egg smoothie a day
With a tbsp of msm. Eat 2 garlic cloves a day.

Why carrot juice?. And what's in the egg smoothie?

I eat garlic as well :)

Was googling ways to thicken hair and came across this thread about carrot juice on black hair media http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/what-i-did-to-get-super-thick-hair_topic12763_page2.html

Milk, 1 raw egg, 1 tbsp of wheat germ oil, 1 tbsp of raw wheat germ. I add a banana and peanut butter to it so it taste a lil better. I saw it on the "drink your way to waist length hair" thread.

Have you noticed that eating garlic makes you you shed less? Garlic supplements did nothing for me.

As for me today, I prepooed with Matrix Biolage Hydrasource with Aloeconitioning balm mixed with sunflower and palm oil and a dash of aloe jiuce.

It felt much better than it did last week. I suppose I can use it as a deep conditioner this way, but the prepoo is working swimmingly so why mess with a good thing?

I used Redken Time Reset shampoo (made my hair feel squeaky clean without feeling hard) and now I'm deep conditioning with Redken Time Reset Youth Revitalizer replenishing deep treatment for 20 minutes under hooded dryer.

This shampoo and treatment also have ceramides and camellia oil in them. I'm a little excited about that so we'll see how good it is for my hair once I'm done. I'm washing this out and finishing off with a palm oil rinse leaving some of it on my hair.

I'll be moisturizing with Redken Anti Snap leave in which also has ceramides in it sealed with sunflower oil. That's it for the ceramides for my hair for at least three days.

I went from a quarter sized amount of shed hair to less than five hairs. However, that was in conjunction with using Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner too.

I'm using hair oiling as my thicken your hair challenge along with eating a higher protein diet.

Thanks for the link. I enjoy carrot juice so I guess it couldn't hurt for me to pull out my juicer and make some.

Let me go ahead and make this more detailed:

I want to grow and retain at least 4" this year. That will put me at MBL. To do this I will do the following:

1. Stay consistent with my vitamins (Manetabolism & B-complex)
2. Increased protein intake to at least 60 grams per day.
3. Protein treatments every two weeks alternating with dcing. (will dc in twists and protein treat loose hair)
4. Sulfur oil or pomade every other day (at least 4x per week)
5. Keep twists in for two weeks so only washing loose and detangling twice a month
6. Dust 1/8 to 1/4" every three months.
7. M&S every other day or when twists feel dry

1. Been doing this
2. Doing this. I drink a protein shake of 50 grams per day, plus w/my other foods I am sure I get about 70 grams in a day.
3. Still doing this, although I have been undoing my twists every week.
4. Still doing this...but I skipped last week to give my scalp a break. Was starting to itch.
5. Have not been doing this. Have been taking down twists washing loose every 7 to 10 days.
6. Next dusting will be end of February.
7. Doing this.
