My goals are for growth and length retention. I don't want to be greedy anymore. I just want to grow and retain three inches all around by this time next year.
Let me go ahead and make this more detailed:

I want to grow and retain at least 4" this year. That will put me at MBL. To do this I will do the following:

1. Stay consistent with my vitamins (Manetabolism & B-complex)
2. Increased protein intake to at least 60 grams per day.
3. Protein treatments every two weeks alternating with dcing. (will dc in twists and protein treat loose hair)
4. Sulfur oil or pomade every other day (at least 4x per week)
5. Keep twists in for two weeks so only washing loose and detangling twice a month
6. Dust 1/8 to 1/4" every three months.
7. M&S every other day or when twists feel dry
 
I want to be BSL by the end of the year and maintain my heat trained head of curls. I think I will do some protective styling this year also. I didn't do any last year in an attempt to force myself to take care of my hair and not be lazy. This year I want to sew it up and grow it out.
 
My goals for this year is to get to solid waist length. I will do the following things:
1. Weekly deep conditioning with my Q-redew
2. Step up my vitamin game. I've been so lazy this year.
3. Incorporate more protein in my diet. Hair grew a lot when j was drinking whey protein all the time.
4. Find a way to protect my ends. I mostly wear wash n gos and not that my hair is longer it seems to get caught everywhere.

I'm sorry but I got choked on my water after reading the first sentence.:lachen:What don't you like about your relaxed hair?
 
  • Continue to nurse my edges back to health
  • Work on achieving healthier ends
  • Continue learning about and treating my Alopecia
  • Continue to DIY my own protective styles and master them! :gorgeous: (salon services cause too much tension on my hair/scalp)
  • Pay attention to what my hair positively responds to
  • Stop being a product junkie and become a selective buyer of products (and/or only buy as needed)
 
Maintain regular trims
Maintain moisture in my hair by tying it up At night with my bonnet/scarf And regular dcing
Use heat sparingly
Wear my hair curly more as I often roller set it more. It's only because I haven't figured out how to get second day hair and I don't like washing my hair everyday. I get cold...


ETA: I knew I needed to change it up when people and coworker asked me if I permed my hair curly or asked if it was real. I was like yes I Have naturally curly hair!

1. Achieve full BSL (I was somewhere between APL and BSL before I cut away heat damaged ends during the summer)
2. Thicken my front edges
3. Grow out my cut to even hair length
4. Pamper and baby my nape
5. Maintain healthy ends
 
Can anyone help me with my goal of trimming regularly. This would be a major part of my retention and thickening goals for the year.

I'm already stressing about my next trim only because I want to try one more salon before I decide that I'm giving up on them. As of right now I really don't feel confident enough to do them on my own because I'm worried I won't trim enough. I also just got a hair cut and would like to keep the layers since it makes my hair appear thicker. I've watched a few videos but not of them have a practiced way of doing it. They all look like they just take some hair and snip. Lol

If I could master this I will have mastered everything about my hair. (Styling doesn't count lol)

@Prettymetty I just got my hair cute last week so I was thinking my next trim would be around March depending on how my hair looks. So I'll appreciate the reminder.

Now I need a method. What should I do? Just part down the middle and snip snip? I want to keep my layers and shape.

Do 4 quarters. Front left and right and back left and right. You can take sections about an inch thick and dust the ends of each section. It'll keep your layers clean if you work in sections
 
My goal is to hopefully cut out heat for a long period of time by wearing wigs and if I ever wear another sew in get a closure so I'm not frying my leave out. I think my flat iron is to blame for my horrid ends looking like they did before I finally cut my hair short.

Also regrow my edges so they're thicker.
 
My 2016 goals:

  2. Keep my scalp oiled
  3. Thicken my edges
  4. Minimize breakage
  5. Make product purchases as needed
I'm working on 1 and 4 by protective styling, keeping my ends trimmed, deep conditioning, and moisturizing/oiling my hair several times a week.

I'm really lazy about number 2. I was using wild growth oil (one of my staples) but I am moving to a colder climate in a few months. So I bought a bottle of JBCO and will be using this as my number 2/3 solution. Hopefully it works. I've never used it consistently enough to get positive results (growth, I mean), and I've been using this stuff on and off since '07, '08'ish.
 
Perhaps a loc soc will work for you. http://soclocsoc.com/3-solid. I just purchased quite a few and am very happy w/them. They remain 'attached' thru the night.
I've worn my loc soc two nights in a row and when I wake up...:band:
It's still on my HEAD covering my edges and all. I'm not having night sweats with it on. It's awesome. Thank you so much! My edges appreciate you.
 
I finally got around to doing my hair. I did a protein prepoo (Therapiste) and a moisturizing dc (Chroma Captive). I'm not a fan of the smell or consistency of Chroma Captive. It's nothing like Chroma Riche :(

I'm under the dryer right now hoping that magic is happening.

Eta: I rinsed my hair and my hair feels smooth and silky. I think I'm going to like this mask. Maybe the heat made it penetrate better...
