2 Inches In 4 Months Challenge 2017 -final Session - Sept To Dec.

Yay! I will come back and post my beginning pics tomorrow.

Edit 1: Sorry I'm so late posting my picture. Classes along with the lazy bug got me.

Edit 2: I'm having an issue posting my picture. Just know that my shortest length is to my bottom lip.

Thanks ladies, @shortdub78 and @faithVA. It really doesn't look like much to me because my fingers were in a different place in the pictures. I think I may have gained an inch at the most but a gain just the same. I've been protective styling for vanity since July. I needed care free vacation hair and crochets have saved my behind! I've been in crochets for all but about 3 weeks since then. I've been using the Cantu Root rinse and Root relief products to try to keep my braided hair and scalp in check.

Ok thanks @faithVA! I know the challenge is 2 inches in 4 months but I'm shooting for 4 inches in 4 months

Current length:mbl
Regimen: prepoo, dc, and braid biweekly. Moisturize and seal braids every other day.
What will you do to achieve your goal: keep using curly proverbz growth oil, get back in the inversion challenge, and protective style under wigs.

This is the post in which I joined the previous session.

And here are my length check photos. I am joining the last session of the challenge for both my hair and my twa.

No progress unfortunately. I sense a very minor increase in length when I stretch my longest layer, which is the only thing that is keeping me from despairing as my alopecia gets worse.

My W shaped hem is getting worse too. Maybe I have to find a way to take special care of my lower nape area. There is a challenge around for that purpose. I will search for ideas there. Don't know. Right now I'm too unhappy to think.

And my twa is just above my eyebrows. Maybe I will have better luck with my twa. The front part of my hair is still healthy and unaffected by alopecia and I sense that it has the capacity to grow. Might be slower than 0.5 inch per month but it should be capable of consistent growth. I will try to take good care of it so that I may be able to retain.

Here is what it looks like unstretched:

I'm sorry you are experiencing alopecia but your curls are beautiful.

I'm too lazy to search for a ruler so I'll just use the pic to help determine my growth at the end of the year. I have a twa that's long enough for me to twist, so my plan is to continue to:

1. Pre-poo. I'll probably just use a cheapie conditioner to do so.
2. Oil my scalp while pre-pooing and massage my scalp.
3. Wash once a week.
3b. Co-wash as necessary.
4. DC every week, protein every 6 weeks.
5. Use the LOC method to moisturize on wash day, light leave-in spray, light leave-in or just water all the other days.
6. Oil my scalp twice a week with a oil mix of jojoba, olive, coconut and amla.
7. Twists in during the week, twist out on the weekend.

Here is my current pic taken Sep 1.
I plan on using braids or African threading for 4-6 weeks at a time.
I wear my head wraps whenever Im out and about. And keep it covered while home.
Im deep conditioning with every take down. I oil my scalp with CP oil. I also use Njoys pomade every 3rd day.
I GHE 2xs a week.
I need about 3 inches to make WL which is my goal.

@Prettymetty, with the amount of BKTing you do, does your hair revert back to its normal curl pattern? How long does the straightness last? Does it revert as soon as you put water on it? If so, why do you do the BKTs?

Thanks. Sorry for bombarding you.

P.S. :look: Just one more Q: Which BKT do you use?
I used Uncurly Keratin the first few times. Now I use Original Keratin.

My hair reverts when I wash it, but it resists humidity for a month or so. I still have very tightly coiled hair, but it dries quicker and sleeker. I started off doing the Bkt every 3 months, but now I do it once a month. I wash and straighten my hair twice a week, because it's super hot and humid this time of year. In cooler months I can make a blowout last a few weeks.

I've been really busy at work so not paying much attention to my hair. It's October, so 1 month down and 3 to go. Not much going on with my hair. Since the weather is cooling off some, I am going to experiment with a few out styles to see if I can find something for the holiday xmas parties. Other than that it will be in my usual flat twist.

I just got some vegan protein powder, drinking carrot juice, eating wheat germ and flaxseed/chia/hemp seed combo, eating those nasty collagen chews, drinking water, doing Oil treatments/massages.

I flat ironed my hair Thursday because I wanted to see how my new iron worked, and I ended up trimming to thicken my hairline up a bit....so I won't be straightening my hair anymore, because I don't know any better and slowing my progress down.
