2 Inches In 4 Months Challenge 2017 -final Session - Sept To Dec.

Yes, this challenge is over at the end of August. The next challenge will start at the beginning of September.

I say too soon. I haven't yet accumulated my 2 inches :giggle:

Btw I have always wondered about the style you are wearing in your avatar. It is very beautiful! What is it? And do you still do it often?

You will get another chance in September. You can go for it then.

The style in my avatar, is after taking out my curlformers and I just wisped the curls the side. Thank you for the compliment. I don't wear it like that. My hair poofs easily so my curls don't last long. And for some reason I can never repeat the same style twice.

Oh I have the same problem. My sets do not last more than 24 hours. The only sets I have done were bantu knot outs and twist outs. I loved the bantu knot outs a lot but I stopped doing them because it was too much work to keep redoing them.
If you don't use gel, maybe using gel can prolong the life of your sets? Your set just looks too amazing to not be worn over and over again.

One more week left ladies. Check in between tomorrow and next Thursday. I will flip the thread over to the final session on Thursday night.

I just massaged my scalp with a grapeseed oil based essential oil blend. I think it has rosemary, peppermint and lavender in it. I'll wash and dc tomorrow. I don't remember posting a starting pic in this challenge, but it's been difficult to upload pics lately anyway. As soon as I can I'll do a length update. My hair still feels the same length since my big trim in June, but the ends are on point.

I didn't join the challenge this quarter but I think I want to be tagged for the last quarter of the year @faithVA - please. TIA.

You just as well go ahead and post your stuff now. It's the end of the month  It's going to be in this thread, so just go ahead and post your stuff for the next chapter. All I'm going to do is change the title.

I'm going to be on vacation the first week of September so I wouldn't count on me tagging you before I get back.

4. What will you do to achieve your goal
  • Use a regimen heavy in ayurvedic ingredients
  • Follow the Asha and Miel's hair growth regimen (I'll add details later)
  • Aim to wear DIY clip-ins over twists once a week and to wear a highly gelled ponytail puff at least once a week
  • Aim to GHE at least once a week
  • Aim to use my scalp massager with my DIY CurlProverbz Ayurvedic Hair Growth Oil at least once a week
5. Anything else you would like to share.

Although a large part of me has wanted to simplify in terms of the VARIETY of products I use, I haven't been successful because I get so fascinated by ingredients and reviews and all that jazz. As a result I've fatigued myself again regarding my hair care.

The good news:

I think I have found SEVERAL good and compelling reasons to use the products listed above. I am going to pack all other products away and leave only the above products on display.

Also, I am really hoping that the Conair Wave Clips can become a part of a healthy hair regimen for me. A "famous" YouTuber with super long hair used them and mentioned that they elongated her hair in such a way as to prevent tangling and the need for a lot of twisting and mechanical handling. I can see myself detangling and washing my hair, drying in these clips, and not touching my hair for 4 days but getting very few tangles. That would be GREAT!

Oh, the clips are discontinued. I just randomly found some on Amazon. They never had any before! They may be terrible! I'll post a review. I think they will arrive in a few days.

I wear wngs pretty frequently. I probably shouldn't because my hair tangles so. I've had success using a leave-in such as Kinky Curly Knot Today under various gels such as Eco Styler, Wetline Gel, Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker, and a new possible favorite -- EarthTones Naturals Gelly.

It's gonna take me 2.5 inches to make it to BSB. I don't know if that's BSL since I didn't have on a bra when I was measured. I'm going to do my best to retain that! That would be great if I can make BSB by the end of the year! I had my kid measure my longest layer, since my hair grows naturally and is cut in layers. I'm gonna try to be consistent with water and vitamins to see if that will help. I will begin my exercise program next month as well. I would love to be MBL by my birthday! I don't know if that's reaching, but hey, why not? Lol

I most recent picture is my touch up pic from Aug 7th.

I plan on washing and dc Twice a week.
I may use heat to blow dry. Flat iron on relaxer day. I have no desire to wear my hair down. I will be relaxing two more times this year. So those will be length check days.

Oh I forgot about this challenge again.

I'll try to wash and style tomorrow for a length check.

I will also make my twa join the challenge. I think that I will measure it stretched because unstretched it amount to nothing -_-
