Things you WON'T do to your hair in 2010

I won't neglect my hair like i've been doing this year. No time for laziness, i'm trying to meet my 2009 WL goal!

No more neglecting to seal my ends with castor/olive oil...
No more sleeping on olive oil in general (I will cheerfully be using it for just about everything..)
NO more wearing my hair out, more than say, once every two weeks? My hair is long enough to pin up decently now, I'll just have to get better at it.
No more waiting until single strand knots cause breakage to cut them off.
uhh.. I'll try to settle on no more than two conditioners at a time (using three is nooot cost effective.) I'm hoping giovanni smooth as silk will be the keeper, and HSR will probably stay on as the DC.
Most importantly...KISS! I need to be cowashing/sealing/twisting/pinning like 90% of the time so the huuuuuge lack of retention i experienced this year doesnt happen again..

i'm going to try prevent split ends and single strand knots. and i'm going to start using heat...i'm waiting for my pressing comb to do light presses.

I WON'T make any promises... I'm too impulsive. :curtain:

i feel you on this.
and, i really like your hair.

i wont go to a salong. i havent been to a salong in well over a year and i dont plan on going ever again.

1) I will not impulsively buy products without thorough LHCF research
2) I will not stick with a salon/stylist who is below my standard of excellence
3) I will not ignore the messages my hair (and body) relate to me, but build a strong list of staples and stick with it till further notice!

  1. I will not jump a product bandwagon
  2. I will not neglect to take my vitamins
  3. I will not trim my hair unless it really needs it
  4. I will not color my hair despite the fact it's a great way to "track" my growth
  5. I will not apply heat to my hair just because I'm bored

I won't keep thin ends/ will maintain great looking ends
I won't sleep without a satin scarf/durag/bonnet
I won't slack off DCs
I won't overuse heat appliances

1. I wont skip trims.
2. I wont let me hair touch wool!
3. I wont forget that my hair needs protein periodically.
4. I wont get Dominican blow outs.

I will not get scissor happy this year. I just did a major trim tonight and it's making me nervous considering I joined MBL and WL 2010. I will only dust every 6 months in 2010!

I won't apply direct heat to my hair as much. I am texlaxed and sometimes I want to see my hair bone strait, so I get it straightened. This year though, I want to embrace my texture more and save my hair from the heat damage, so I will straighten only for special occasions.

i wont:
1. dye my hair (this is going to be a hard one for me:spinning:)
2. allow any stylist to cut my hair and instead i will try s&d for the first time:yep:
3. forget about my ends:perplexed
4. detangle my hair roughly:nono:

My DH just gave me a major trim and my ends look GREAT!
I will not blow dry AND flat iron my hair.
I will not neglect my ends.
I will not neglect my overall health which affects my hair growth and retention.

I WILL NOT:

Cut off my see through ends until I reach my growth goal

Let anyone else trim/cut my hair

BKT

Ever use a hand held blow dryer

Thanks, Eisani,

I was so unmotivated in 09' for some reason. I didn't moisturize daily (let alone twice a day), didnt prepoo with every wash and so on...

In 2010 I wont forget:
  • To moisturize twice a day
  • To prepoo with every wash
  • To add coconut oil to my DC
  • To increase moisture in my crown by week 14 of my stretch.

I will NOT texlax my hair, again (I just like my natural texture better)
I will NOT forget to prepoo (it makes a big difference for me)
I will NOT buy anything that says "Gold" or "Hot" in its name (can we say burnt hair in one low application? Ceramic my tail.)
I will not put a banana in my hair (@ least until I get some sort of processor)
I will NOT keep putting my hands in my hair! (I have "hand and hair" disease. I keep putting my hands in my hair!)
I will NOT trim/dust off schedule just cuz the scissors look so sharp. Or just cuz the left side/certain textured hair seems to grows faster than the right/more kinky hair. Or "just cuz", period.
I will NOT be lazy overall.

  • I won't relax (although I think about it constantly)
  • I won't color (I need to remember that dye will break my fine strands off!)
  • I won't slack on my progress pictures
  • I won't give up on being natural in general. I just need to take time with my hair and I can reach MBL in 2010. So close!

Yikes, I didn't last a month and a half....:o

Ah well, I can still work on the middle two goals in the mean time!

I will not take my hair for granted.
I will not forget to take my vitamins.
I will not go to bed without my scarf or bonnet.
I will keep my hair covered the majority of the time, especially in the winter months.
I will not buy a new product until I run out of something else.

I will not relax...not even a thought for me, though
I will not take my hair for granted...I am thankful for what I'm beginning with
I will not slack off- Consistency is the key!
I will not be unrealistic in my expectations-I realize that I'm not going to go from 2 inches below shoulder to APL in 3 weeks!
