Things you WON'T do to your hair in 2010

I was just sitting here thinking about this year's progress compared to years past, what I did differently and whether I saw any benefits, set-backs, or no change at all.

After some thought, I decided on a few things I won't be doing in 2010:
1) Holding on to these relaxed ends! I only have a bit left and regardless of how I feel about length, these ends will be completely gone by April.
2) I won't slack off on my DC's and prepoos. This year has been an utterly lazy one, especially the last 6 months or so. I was only dc'ing once every couple weeks and prepoos were very scarce.
3) I won't be so quick to buy new hair products :look: Just pray my strength on this one
4) I won't forget the practices and products that helped me gain length as quickly as I did. 2009 I didn't focus on length at all. I'm about to get back on my growth kick, taking it back to the basics and stepping it up for '10!

What are some of the things you won't do, or will be doing differently in the new year?

I won't sleep w/o a bonnet or scarf
I won't forget to moistuize 2x's daily.
I won't EVER go back to a salon to get my hair done. :nono:
I won't get any weaves.
I won't neglect my health.
I won't forget to listen to what my hair is telling me it needs.
I won't relax.
I won't abuse heat.
I won't neglect my ends.

I won't co wash daily because that is what ravaged my ends.

I won't skip on trims because I'm too lazy to do them.

I WILL NOT dye my hair, who cares if I haven't been a brunette or blonde yet?! As I get older I appreciate my thick, unprocessed hair more.

I will not run to the heat tools when I get more length, I am not about to lose all my hard work for a 3rd time.

I will not deny myself of any hair product because I know my PJism has hit an all-time high and there is just no coming down lol.

I WILL NOT go back to relaxers!! I never wore my hair down anyway and natural hair fits my personal style as well as my lazy hair care methods. I heart big hair!!!

I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR
I WILL NOT IGNORE MY HAIR

I WILL NOT relax my hair anymore
I will not BKT frequently (strecth every 3-4 months)
I will not neglect my vitamins (Biotin, Vitamin B-complex, ViViscal)
I will not underestimate deep conditioning
I will not be lazy with my regimen in 2010

I will NOT relax....that's the only thing I'm commiting to, lol.

I would love to add I will not neglect DCs but I'm not ready for that yet, does 1/month count???

I will NOT grow my hair any longer than full WL...any longer than that is just too much hair for me.

I'm not quite WL yet but should be there by my March or June 2010 touchup. After that, I'm just gonna wait until I'm about 2" past and do a blunt cut.

I WILL NOT:

-completely airdry my hair
-put scissors to my head unless im trimming my bangs
-not use heat
-go to a salon in my college town
-go overboard buying hair products

No wash-n-gos. They create to many tangles and single strand knots.
No henna. I had no issues with it, just that the benefits for me aren't worth the mess or time.

well i did great in 09 so ill keep that up.

in 201o i will not use heat no matter how many people suggest i straighten.

I will not get lazy with my hair care.
I will not employ a "no manipulation" regimen while bunning. My hair will have to braided ONLY if I choose not to manipulate my hair.
I will not cut or trim.

I will not rely on wigs for all my hair needs.
I will not spend more than 8-10 on a hair product(im in college that just wont do)
I will not dye my hair in spite of me being 24 and having gray hairs
I will not not pamper my hair like I should

Great thread OP

I won't DC less than 1x a week
I won't forget to take my vitamins.
I won't keep buying stuff that will pile up in my house
I won't abuse heat

I WILL NOT dye my hair myself. It's time to get this dye monkey off my back and go to a professional.

I will not get lazy with DCs.

I will not wear wigs more than I wear my own hair.

I will not relax (natural has been good to me in 09 so lets go for 10)

I will not henna, without indigo if I ever decide to do it again.
I will not go more than 2 days without moisturizing.
I will not slack off on DCs or protein treatments.
I will not jump on any more bandwagons.
I will not comb.
I will not buy any new products that supposedly have amazing curl defining properties.
I will not complain about my hair while doing nothing to combat the issues.

I will leave henna out of my regimen for now to see if it was really worth it.

And now for the biggie:
I will NOT think short term 'pretty straight hairstyle' or 'easy blowout after washing' over long term hair health in 2010. I will think seriously and count the cost before each application of heat (they will be very few).

I will not get lazy with my vitamins. Makes a big difference when I take them religiously.

I will not do things half azzed...either do it right or don't do it at all.

I will not keep switching products.
I will not use heat more than 2x in the year.
I will not be rough w/my hair.
I will not neglect moisturizing my hair.

Stay Natural In 2010! It is just so hard for me, I end up with alot of regrets after relaxing and wasted time and growth! Natural is the better for me and my hair and scalp. Do they have a Relaxer Rehab? LOL!!!! or an INTERVENTION? LOL!!

I will NOT do long stretches
I will NOT go long periods without detangling
I will NOT neglect to take my multi vitamin and flax seed oil
I will NOT brush down my edges and wear my hair pued back tighty because this damaged my edges a little bit.

I AM NOT GOING TO........
* glue a weave in my hair
* apply too much heat to my hair
* relax my hair that often
* trim or cut my hair
* neglect my hair and treat it poorly
* do any hairstyle that damages my edges
* give up on my journey to healthy, long hair
* style my hair that will compromise the health and condition of my hair
