this is the 1st time iv used heat since last nov... but im starting to miss my curly hair so il be washing it back in a couple days. lol
tkj, you have had great growth...wow!i've just passed 3.5 yrs (from my 4th & last bc). i started over from a shaved head in 2006.
straightened, my hair hangs at collarbone in the front layers, & armpit-length in the back layers.
i'm shooting for bsb by next summer & wl a year after that.
I bc'd December 02. I can't believe this December will make 6 years!
I'm mid-back length (barely...but I claim it!)![]()
Thanks ladies!
N&W (hush girl, you've made some great progress! That hair in your picture is flawless, really!!).
Ivie, I bet you'll be BSL in December!
Know what I've learned since hangin' around hairboards?
That any and everything is possible with knowledge, time and lots and lots of PATIENCE. The proof is right here on this board with all the lovely heads of relaxed and natural hair running around in here!! All of it is so fun, encouraging, inspiring and may I please say - Empowering.
I just wish more women had an opportunity to get online and learn what's possible...
I've been natural going on 5 yrs now including my transition. I recently achived Mid Back Length![]()
I've got a teeny, tiny update. I straightened a few days ago. It rained so it started poofing up almost immediately after I finished.
I'm in this weird in-between zone where the back is between waist and hip and the front (when brushed to the back) is between bsl and mb.
I don't wear my hair in "styles" and most of the time I'm in twists/twist-outs so I'm just going to leave it alone (aka Chicoro's method) and see how it goes.

I'm not even bsl and I've been natural for 12 years. But I think we shouldn't assume that because someone's natural that they'll be retaining length. I mean, we never ask the question "oh, you've been relaxed for 5 years, so your hair should be long by now, right?" If you don't know how to retain length, natural or not, you won't get it.
Oh, I've been trying to grow now since Jan.
