Let me apologize in advance if I offend anyone. It is not my intent. Nor is it my intent to start a controversial thread!! Now, with that being said - What the hell was Mel B thinking? The reason I don't think this is appropriate is because 1)she's a little girl 2) it seems Mel B has never taken any interest in the upkeep of little Angel's hair and 3)is this a ploy for attention for the mother? I like Mel B and all, but this is too much!!

Poor little Angel!! I wish she was old enough to make her own decisions about her hair!

Am I overreacting? What's your opinion?

I'm sorry, but I really don't like this style. She looks like Mr. T. :lachen:Not a cute look for a little girl.:nono:

This is an inappropriate hair style for a child. But, they are celebrities and celebrities seem to have their own rules.

*shrugs* not crazy about it, but it's not my kid.

she's just a wee one, she'll have plenty of time later in life to grow more hair -or buy it...

I think the mohawk look is cute on some little boys, but def. not for a little girl. That's going too far, and I agree, it may be a ploy for attention for the mother. :ohwell:

I wouldn't have given her a mohawk but I don't see what's wrong with cutting her hair. Other races/textures of people cut their little girls' hair just like a boy's all the time. It always grows back. *shrugs*

Basically, i think she did not want to deal with her daughter's hair so she thought it would be easier and cooler looking to do a mohawk. I hope however she didn't think it was cute.

A HAM. I can understand if she was older and asked for that mess. A classmate of mine also cut her 1 year old's hair in a mohawk.

im all for expressing ones personality, if the child ( which i doubt) came up with this, then whatever

obviously i think a mohawk would look better on a boy lol, like gwen stephanies son had. but its not my kid.

Could it be that the side of her daughter hair wasn't growing in yet. So she decided to just fade it out on both side, since the mohark is in. Just a wild guess. I know my daugher sides of her hair didn't start growing in until around 3yo. She was a side sleeper.

Ditto.

As for the mama, lots of people have a bad sense of style... I've WAY worse when it comes to children's hair. It's chemical free and doesn't look terribly damaged.

To me, it's just a stupid haircut. Parents sometimes give kids dumb haircuts or stupid outfits. It isn't anything that is going to harm the child in any way. Very bad judgement - but on it's own I'm not ultra alarmed.

Now, if the kid was older and self aware and didn't want this cut, I would feel differently.

Then again I don't know anything about the woman... maybe y'all know something else about her that makes a difference.

I didn't know there was another thread!!

My bad!! I should have searched before posting a new thread.

Ooops..........:imsorry:

I'm always nervous about posting and this is my cue to continue living in lurkdom!!

Don't sweat it! Just letting you know there's another thread. Shoot, sometimes you Google and still don't see another related thread. ;)

She could have just braided corn rows up the sides right??

This is what I was gonna say. My niece is four (I know it's not quite the same) but she wanted a mohawk so I braided it into one and left her natural hair out into a mohawk. She wore it for a weekend and that was the end of it.

I don't see anything wrong with cutting a childs hair, however such a drastic cut for a baby is not cute, to me.

Thanks for posting here! I never really look in the other sections anyway. The little girl is so cute though...even with the mohawk.

Yeah, I was thinking this too after my post. My baby is 1 and is a side sleeper. Her sides are not more than 1/2 inch long. The top (mohawk area) is long, so I just do staggered ponytails with rubberbands or cornrow it straight back to keep her from looking too wild in public. The sides will take quite a while to grow in fully-like another year or two.:ohwell:

That is a hot mess. It is not cute. Somebody otta cut the mommy hair in a mohawk and see how she likes it.
