Mel B's Daughter's Hair

My 10 year old son wore a fro-hawk for a minute last year, so i am not unused to seeing this style...BUT

I would have thought better of it if she shaved it just lower on the sides (like Cassie or Lala or Rihanna, etc.) bc then I could have pretended she was following a fad. But she shaved it bald. I guess I'm just not used to seeing little girls with this kind of hairstyle. me no likey, but it's not my kid...

Why didn't she do that to herself? Is it because she'a able to make a decision to shave her head in a fro hawk style, or on one side, or completely off, or keep her coils and the baby is totally helpless? Yeah, that's why. She still got her coils though while her baby lookin crazy. This mo-hawk fro-hawk ish is sooooooooooo played.

She's a baby, it is really not that serious. Maybe it is a ploy for attention, or maybe she is thinking outside the box, which our community does not do when it comes to hair....but who knows. Who cares if she knows how to "handle" her daughter's hair or not? I'm sure she can pay someone to do it either way...

Hopefully, unlike a large number of black women, her daughter will be able to grow up and rock ANY hairstyle with confidence. I don't find 10 pigtails all over a little girl's hair particularly appealing either. At least she is rocking that mo-fro freely...

you know, I just thought of something else...maybe she got gum in her hair and had to cut out a big chunk of hair for some reason and decided to shave it to even it out...or maybe the baby got a hold of some scissors...it happens. you never know.

True.

I had to get my hair cut down twice in childhood. Once because of gum (My mom did try like HELL to get it out and took me to the hairstylist and she couldn't get it out either)

The other because I cut it right in the front down to nothing.

So... you're completely right  We don't know how this cut came to be.

Although, that baby looks young to be chewing gum or having scissors. :ohwell: How old is she anyways?

I dunno... my son is very tall for his age, and could reach (and open) drawers at 2 so... he was able to get to sharp knives and scissors pretty early.

Obviously I moved them, not so much because of his hair but for safety's sake! Kids plus sharp instruments equals scary trip to the emergency room!!! :nono:

But I'm just saying. Kids will amaze you with the ish they can get into... especially boys. You can tell girls to stay out of the trash and they will do it, but boys? My son would get someone else's gum out of the trash, and then wipe it in his hair to get it off his hands once he got sick of it - that is, unless he finds another person to wipe it on. He is bad about that.

Toddlers are God's revenge for the whole Adam and Eve fruit-snacking scandal, I think... :lachen:

I dont see a problem with it. Its not hurting the little girl or her hair follicles. Not to mention Angelinas baby Maddox had a mohawk like that at round the same age i think and everyone just talked about how cute it was. I think it give her attitude.

ITA. my 7 yr old niece just shaved off an eyebrow the other day. Were calling her unibrow now.

She needs to stop takin' all her frustration with Eddie out on that baby :lachen: Maybe she was thinking about getting a frohawk, but wanted to see how it would look on Iris first

I must admit that I don't like the mohawk. But as many people said before, we also don't know the reason for the mohawk.

When I was a baby I actually had a mohawk because I was having a surgery and the doctors couldn't find any veins on my body that were big enough for the iv. therefore they cut my hair in a mohawk and I was much younger than Mel B's daugther at the time as well. So just like some others have stated we don't really know the reason for it and maybe we should keep an open mind.

thats a mess! she could've done that to her own head. and put some moisture in that baby head too; hers looks good so she obviously knows how to do somethin...

Good Lord! That's just awful!

I will save this thread for the next time someone posts a picture of Angelina Jolie and Zahara LOL

That is not cool...I hope she keeps her in pink or girly stuff. You know folks catch trouble trying to figure out if it's a girl or a boy, and she goes and puts a mohawk on the poor baby. :nono:

I would do a mohawk on a little boy but dayum not a little gurl.

well at least her daughter'S hair is not an overprocessed choppy head of hair BUT She definately need LHCF in her life, she should lurk in the parental sub forum. :)

Dang, I find the mohawk cut to be extreme for a baby girl, but hey, maybe the baby appeared in a movie or a magazine ad & it was required. Hmm, who am I kidding, I can't even attempt to justify it, because the mohawk look could have been obtained using some firm gel. Oh well, at least it will grow out fairly quickly.

I don't have a problem with it AND we don't know if there is a reason for it. My now 4 year old girl has had TWO incidents where she had chopped off hair. I was devastated. My husband just shrugged and said it will grow back.

I think there must be a reason for this like the poster above said. Maybe she put something her hair that had to be cut out, or tried to cut her own hair. It happens all the time. But if it is for the style, I hope Mel B learns this style can be achieved without actually cutting her hair.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Parents can style the hair of their children as they like. The little girl pulls it off because she's gorgeous imo.

It's simply a hair style. The rest of her hair looks healthy to me :)

Her hair will grow out, however it would be interesting if Mel would do the style on her own hair.

This was about Eddie. Seems like Mel B. still had/has some issues with their past together and whatever is going on with them now. I hate when people use children to get to adults.
