BIG CHOPPED. Transitioning was not for me. I am four months post relaxer. I could not deal with the the two textures and products that my natural hair liked but relaxed hair didn't and vice versa.These are pics of my transitioning style:

I was tired of trying to find the right combo of products to make my hair act right... so i whipped out my scissors and and did this:

I was nervous at first but when i got to about this point.. I was jamming to my Music Soulchild CD and thinking " Girl.. You can rock this cut" so I think I made the right choice since I'm not missing my relaxed hair at all right now. Here are some pics of me chopping off the back:

QUESTION: WHAT HAIR TYPE AM I? I THINK IM 4A WITH A MIX OF 4B.. BUT VETERANS CHIME IN AND LET ME KNOW CUZ SOME OF U SAY ONE TYPE WHEN IM THINKING OF ANOTHER..

And this is what I am looking like now: dry hair (and i mean dry) after finishing chop

My front doesnt curl like the back.. its alot straigher to those straight hairs u see is actually my natural hair:

So that was my day yesterday.. My 3 year old rubbed my head afterwards and said what happened to your hair mommy? I said I cut it off.. He goes its like mine and I like it.

Aww Thanks guys... I now on a journey to find some stuff to define my curls.. Im about to henna my hair today and see how that goes... if i like I will post pics of that too.. Oh.. what my hair type and do I have a hair twin, cousin, great aunt.. someone??? lol

I think you may be a 4a also. Don't worry about those straight hairs, my head is like that too. It will all come together as it grows, but it still looks good now.

LOL Girl Can't u see i have a 5head going on? And I thought the same thing, that I had a weird shaped head.. but I read somewhere here that if you are pretty with ur hair.. u will be pretty without it (or not as much of it). Your face doesn't change.. so get a short wig and see how it looks.. I think it would be nice on you
