I have a few close friends that I have shared this board with (like it is all mine, right)...but those that I know "always got something to say about everything" or are not open-minded when it comes to our ways of doing things, but want to know what I do for my hair...I'm like "let me check with "my homegirl" or "my girlfriend" which are my sisters on the LHCF

Please don't think I am being selfish and/or stingy but I have come to find out when I do try provide tips, folks seem to always have something negative to say, but yet, they came to me. Trust, I have a long way to go to get where I want to be hairwise -but "stuntin' is a habit -you tryin' to get like me" (for those David Banner fans out there)

Kinda ventin' on the cool...went to a dinner last night, chick asks me about my hair, etc...told her about conditioning, protein, moisturizing, etc. and she says (all out loud) "so u trying to be white - and that old tired speech that WE don't have to wash our hair that much, blah, blah, blah and thought it was funny (she had the jokes coming)..Glad my DH was there gently rubbing my back as I would have been wrong if I told her "I betcha u would think I was black with my foot in your a**" but I am not the violent type but hair is a sensitive subject with me.

So I just flipped the script and told her wash her hair with head and shoulders and set her hair with (lots of) Luster Pink Oil and BB Supergro - when she conditions with Aphogee 2-step when it dries, make sure she detangles it because the instructions on the bottle are for "white people" (no offense to my caucasians sisters out there!!!)

This was longer than planned but I am glad I got it out of my system!

I dont share tips. Its a waste of time. If someone wants to learn about hair....and are truly ready they can learn like I did-google lead me to this site. I have learned from past experience its a waste of time. So the only thing I say is "I don't let my hair get dry". Thats it lol

Plus this is my sanctuary, Im not sharing LHCF. I think I can count on one hand how many people I have shared this site with and I don't think any of them pay it any mind. I tried to help my sis. Gave her this site link and some fotki links and she hasn't DC'd once. Some people want a just want a quick fix and the info that I know def is not.

If you really told 'ole girl to wash with Head 'n Shoulders, detangle out the Aphogee hard protein, and finish off with Pink Oil....that is soooooo wrong on sooooo many levels. She must of really pissed you off. That's worse than actually cursing her out.

I have only told two people about this site. Like one of the pp said, if they want to know, they will google and find this site. I want to share some info so bad, especially when people tell me how their hair is thinning or breaking then they tell me their reggie, I just want to cringe! But when I give them a tidbit of info, they don't get it so I just let it go...

I don't share anything. I do what ever I want to my hair because I know how to take care of it. When I dyed my hair, everyone at school was like OMG...Your hair is going to fall out. Here I am, months later, hair still longer and healthier than theirs (and I have redyed and relaxed 4 times since then )

Hi Counselor - I was hotter than fish grease, her little anecdotes, comments and jokes were at my expense..and think about how so many of us came so far by encouraging,motivating, etc each other - it's almost like you are messin' with my family (yes I am a ride or die chick!!)

The thing is, I have dealt with the naysayers and haters, but you try to put me out there like Dave Chappelle did Professor Klump....I gotta getcha!!! To make it so bad, I am not losing any sleep...I know I should not be that way and turn the other cheek, sticks and stones - but she went there!

i agree, my co-worker has very thinining hair, i showed her the site and made some suggestions, but she does nothing but complain bout her hair. and dont let me tell her i am trying something new because she always says "u and that hair, u ar so obsessed". and i am not, i just want healthy hair!!! my hair used to be a lot healthier until i had a braiding shop incident. I just want what i had, and maybe a lil more length lol. but she is always calculating what i spend on my hair and the new things i have tried. i am sick of it so no more tips for here.

That is why when ever hair comes up in conversations at school, I keep my mouth shut. Then people always look at me and say well what do you do because your hair looks so good, pretty, etc............ I give them a little preview but I also tell them that when you are serious about improving your hair then come to me, other than that, keep chasing your tail.
