S.O. RUINING REGIMEN!!!

When my buddy's around I let my hair hang loose. When he goes to sleep, I sit in my vanity area and have some hair time.

I never give up my regimen. It is apart of who I am naturally!

Right now my hair is in a mushed fro. My Dh doesn't really say too much about my hair, but sometimes he might ask when am I going to straighten it. He really likes my hair short. I had long hair before we started dating and the day that I cut it off, he asked me out. He actually liked my hair when I had a fade. I'm trying to grow my hair out naturally and I don't feel like putting it in a style right now. I'm really scared of heat, but maybe next year around our anniversary I might straighten it. I want it to be a certain length by then too.

Yes!!!! It seems like he always wants to go out on my wash days! This joker actually had the nerve to tell me that I wash my hair too much, and that I am not white! I co wash twice a week yall, that is not too much, and trust and believe I know what race I am. Im getting upset.... I must pre poo now

Well, I don't live with my fiance but I know I have to deep condition on Saturday morning and Wendesday nights.

He'd complain about that when he was here so I fixed that real quick. He's no longer allowed over at those times.

I don't let him interfere with my hair in any way. Men may come and go but hair is forever.

Actually my SO is really supportive about this whole process.

On special occassions I wear it down but its not a requirement for him. He is excited about me having long hair and he gives me tips like things to eat to increase my growth.

He loves long hair on women and really likes it that I am wanting to grow it long for him (Well thats part of the reason). Even the other day I said I wanted to relax my hair sooner than my initial goal of February (14-15 weeks) and he said NO you not.

Yes! I am trying to do no/low manipulation which means braids or twists...but all he wants to see is a big curly braid out so...I only wear it in braids when we're not together...the only benefit to a long distance relationship...I have no idea what is going to happen to my hair when I graduate and live in the same city.

My SO is always COMPLAINING about what i put in my hair and how it smells -always. its pretty discouraging but he doesnt understand the need to do all this stuff to grow hair (everyone in his family has waistlength hair with no effort). Im am also transitioning and he doesnt understand why i cant 'wear my hair like i used to'. But screw it, I WANT LONG HAIR! lol

My boyfriend could care less about long hair and he only likes my hair when it's flat-ironed. *rolls eyes* Mind you, this fool is growing his own hair out and walks around with a matted afro cuz it's "too much work to pik it out all the time" (just once a day is all I'm asking). So basically, he can walk around looking like Buckwheat but I'm supposed to have my hair nice & flat-ironed whenever I'm around him. Except I hate using heat on my hair, so....yeah.....He's not happy at all right now.

He also claims his hair is gonna surpass mine in length even though he has like 4 in of hair when it's straight and mine is almost BSL...and his hair is super duper dry and has split ends everywhere....so WHATEVEERRRRRRRRRRRR

I definitely get complaints about my hair always being up or some of the stinky products that I use. As for the products, I mask them with nice smelling oils. On the weekends, I will curl it and leave it down.

My boyfriend looks at me crazy when I pincurl my hair at night. But to hell with his opinion because he loves the way it looks in the morning...and so do I and thats all that matters to me.

My SO doesn't mind too much. I slowly got him used to it, and I invested in a satin pillow case so that I would be able to not wear a bonnet to bed. He loves my hair out though, but doesn't mind when I pull it back b/c then he says he can see my face more. He does like to pull at it during certain times and play in it, but I like it and it's not often enough to interfere, so no harm no foul. Also he's put his foot down about some issues like that I should never relax my hair ever again.

My SO understands how important it is for me to take care of my hair so he doesn't mind. When I'm happy, he's happy. He also knows that once I have something set in my mind to accomplish, NO ONE can stop me!!
He also likes how "cute" I look when I'm DCing, got rollers in my hair or in a bonnet - he's wierd like that!

What an interesting post. I was just asking my husband which hairstyle he likes on me the most and it shocked me when he said "pulled back". My hair is currently BSL when stretched (I'm natural), and my goal is to get as close to waist-length as possible. So I'll be bunning for a while.

I just put on a wig if I'm short on time. He knows I have hair! He loves me switching up my look with wigs, but then when I wear my own hair he is surprised too!

He likes it all so that makes it easy for me

I continue with my regimen, but I wear my hair down more instead of in a bun. I don't do rollersets b/c they don't look the same the next day and braidouts are the same way so I stick to my bun. Buns are cute on me and plus it keep my ends really protected but I do wear it down often. Sunday is the day I shampoo and condition my hair, yesterday he said you and that hair, I told him if I don't do anything to it I would look like rudy huxable from cosby show, he said its cute though, I said yeah if you're 10 years old. I told him that's why I wear a bun so much, but he's understanding.

The real problem is his pulling at it when he are "making happy"

DH sees all my henna (he calls is henny perplexed), coconut oil, saran wrap (says I look like a space alien trying to get a signal), phony pony's, half wigs, etc. He jokes about my hair arsenal..........but he knows what I'm tryna do (transition)

Well, he is cowashing himself. However, its just when he talks about the wigs, and weave(protective styles). It used to give me a hard time, but I figured, he is ONE of the people who will reap the rewards.

But he knows my hair is gonna be wet/oily w/conditioner in a pony every time he sees me. He has helped me comb through it before too. that made him a keeper in my book. yup!
he hates buns so they were retired by him , or by me when I saw his face one day when I went to do a bun. Makin Whoopie, is rough on my edges, BUT I aint tellin him to stop putting his hands all up in my hair because.....well I like it like that!

my so actually grew up with sisters so he's cool with me tying my head at night and stuff. but i'm not cool with it. as much as he says its okay I just don't want him to see me with a headtie on. i got some satin pillow cases though.
