Has using other people regimen help or hurt?

My regimen is basically The Crown and Glory Regimen which has done wonders for my hair.

Before I followed this regimen, my hair was above neck length. Now it's reaching Bra Strap Length :D

This IMO is the best and most uncomplicated regimen to follow.

starting out I would use products that people recommended but ended up w/ way too many products that were not doing anything for my hair. I like to keep it simple and wash when I feel I need to and rollerset when I have a special occasion. My regimen took some time but it works great for me. The tips and advice I've received here has helped tremendously

Well I incooperated other folks technique and tweaked them I never followed anyones regime but I took bits and pieces etc

This is what I do too, but I have been following Cichelle's tech of combing/brushing hair and it has been alot better for me.

Helped!!!!!!!!:D :D :D :D :D

I've used different elements from lots of people's regimens that have helped me. But I have to shout out a few:

-Reniece (the weaveologist) - I use her weaving regimen that she describes in her fotki that helped her go from from above shoulder length to beyond bra-strap. Ever since I started weaving a year ago I have finally really been able to retain a good amount of length. It also helps me to stretch my relaxers for as long as I do now.

-Sistaslick- for her information on sealing in a water-based moisturizer with an oil.

-Isis- for inspring me to use heat a lot less.

For the most part incorporating other people's regimens into mine have really helped me a lot.

I listen to my hair and take it from there. I may try a product or technique that has been discussed, but I don't follow anyone's specific regimen.

I don't follow anyone's regimen. I have my own regimen that I've been using for years, long before I ever came here.

But I have picked up lots nice tips here and there from members. What this board has really helped me with more than anything though is product recommendations. I would have never known about most of the wonderful products that I use now because honestly, I had never heard of them.

The only thing that hurt my hair was trying to wet rollerset my hair, the use of the small comb on my thick hair...i still crings when I think of how much hair I lost that day! Caruso it is!
