I never Deep Condition. I just pre-poo, shampoo with conditioner, and then use a little Miss keys 10en1 for like 3 minutes. Am I leaving out a crucial step in my hair care?

Yes, yes and yes. I deep condition once a week and I always see a difference when I do this. It's like giving your hair a little "spa" treatment.:yep:

If your hair is thriving than it's not an issue. Not everyone needs to DC. Unfortunately I'm one of those who need too....

I do DC with a moisturizing conditioner, but only about once per month. My weekly wash routine includes a prepoo with VO5 conditioner, wash w/shampoo (sometimes), add a leave-in, seal with serum/oil and then rollerset and airdry.

I prefer a simple, inexpensive regimen, and my hair is as healthy (and long) as ever.

I started using my pre-poo as my dc. So on dry hair I add my conditioners and oil, wrap my hair in a towel with a baggie and sit under the dryer for about 30 minutes. Jump in the shower, rinse out and either CW or poo and then like you use my MissKeys rinse as I am bathing and get out. So I am still dc just before not after

I DC every time I wash my hair which is once a week AND I also pre-poo. I tend to not really moisturize my hair with oils and such during the week - literally, I use my Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist and seal with Castor Oil but thats on top of using BT. I don't like my hair to get weighed down so I try to just do one mega moisture treatment a week.

I used to NOT DC my hair and it really was brittle and breaking, so I think it all depends on the hair.

oooh this is a good one
my biggest insecurity
I don't DC but maybe 1/month?? if that...
and its because my hair is so fine that when I DC it comes out extra heavy and sort of oily

I think once a month is fine really.

I personally do it with every wash (once a week) because I like the way it tames and softens my hair.

If I am in a rush, I can skip it one time, but I would never go past 2 weeks.

I really don't think it would harm myh air if I did it less, but as Nice & Wavy said, it is like a spa treatment and I enjoy doing it.

I used to DC every time I wash, but since I stopped, my hair responds so much better. It's gotten thicker. Can't explain it.

If your hair is fine with, then do what you've been doing. I, personally, need deep conditioning. It really helped turn my hair and scalp around. It helped increase my moisture and got rid of my dry, flaky scalp. It also helped with my funky ends. But that's just me and my hair. Do what works for you.

If I felt I needed it, I would. But I co wash daily, so I figure my hair's getting enough moisture and I don't need to dc.

I don't know. Right now I use Motions CPR, but I only leave it on while I bathe, for like 10 minutes or so. So, I guess it's not really a DC then.

I do a protein DC twice a week and a moisturising DC once a week. My hair  it. I have no breakage and very little shedding.

Which protein DC do you use? I dc with every poo(2-3x week) and although I've tried to sample new products my fave remains the ORS replenish pak. I've also stopped dcing for extended periods. I stick with the instructions and keep it at 15 min or 20 if I'm being daring:blush: :lachen:

I never used to before joining the boards. My hair grew, but it never had sheen and broke all the time. Now I do it every time I wash (2x week) and I can tell a huge difference in my hairs health and appearance.

No, my shampoo/conditioner combo is just that good.
I still have half a tub of Motions conditioner I haven't used in I don't know how long.

your hair looks nice and healthy, but Ive read that if you have fine hair you can still benefit from deep conditioning. Many do it on dry hair with heat prior to shampooing and then just do a light rinse out conditioner after shampooing. Since you are shampooing the deep conditioner out, it wont weigh your hair down.

I voted 'with every wash'. At first it was part of the boot camp challenge but now it's a way of life. My hair thrive with this essential step. Nice to know the majority dc's.:yep:

I DC at least twice a week. Currently I DC with towel turban on one day/air dry and under the dryer a couple days later.

I deep condition with both a light protein (Keraphix) and a moisturizer (Humectress) every time I wash my hair which is usually twice a week. For the past two weeks, I have been giving myself a hot oil treatment before I wash my hair. My hair is growing and I only see one or two (I can count them) shed hairs when I am doing my rollerset.

im natural and I try to DC every week...but I have went as long as a month. In the winter I try to do it more often because the air is so dry and I dont co wash as often. The longer I wait to DC the drier and tangly my hair gets.

I haven't dc'd in so long... ironic though b/c while we were out today I told DH I needed one... So I'll be conditioning tonight but I can't tell you the last time I have... no negative side effects though. I'm just doing it for good measure though.

I DC every week .. I cowash daily so if I don't do a nice moisturizing one at the end of the week, then I'll do a protein one.
