...and after I got over my disgust (I never had a facial hair in my LIFE!), I attributed it to either the NAC or the PP 5mg biotin, both of which i started taking 2 months ago...

In my perpetual search for a totally streamlined vitamin regimen, and because I'm down to my last 30-day supply of NAC :look:, I need help figuring out which one caused my facial growth and if there could be a correlation between facial hair growth and head hair growth...In other words, which one had my plucking my face?

Oh, more backstory! I've been taking biotin for about 6 months now, though I went up to 5mg about 2 months ago, and have experienced increased body hair all over, just never my face...

So which one's the keeper, ladies? :drunk:

Wow, sometimes biotin will do that. You may have to cut back on the biotin or ditch it. Unless you don't mind tweezing.:ohwell:

Yeah I've been having that same problem too. I love that the 5mg has really helped turn my hair around, but it seems like I'm plucking new hairs every single day.:nono:

Similar thing happened to me, except it was two shiny hairs. :look: I had to leave the biotin (and some other supplements) alone. That was last year, and the hairs keep coming back.

:lachen:Yup, it's the biotin, and possibly the entire B-compex combination. The biotin in my vitamins is only 300 mcg and I'm seeing longer hairs. I'm already kinda hairy, and I was on the train the other day and glanced at my hand and noticed that the hair that grows on the back of my fingers was extra long :pullhair: I actually have to trim it now.

May I ask why you feel it's disgusting? I have the same problem well I wouldn't call it a problem. I think it comes with being a chick but somehow you have escaped having a little chin or upper lip hair. Consider yourself lucky because every woman I know whether taking supplements or not has to pluck or wax every blue moon if not more often. Is this not natural:ohwell:

Just be happy you only had 3 chin hairs in your life! I wish I could help more, I just know that Biotin does make my facial hairs come in faster (i.e. having to wax every 2-3 weeks instead of once a month).

Well I have always had a chin 'maintenance' regimen, but now they are growing in faster, longer, thicker. I was at a party on saturday, went to the bathroom and about died when I looked in the mirror and it looked like I had a 5 o'clock shadow:blush:. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that noticed, but still, it surely made me very self-consious for the rest of the evening. Can't wait to get some money so I can get some laser treatment:grin:

it may be natural for you, but it ain't natural for me! :lachen: i was shocked/grossed out cuz the chin hairs reminded me of my pubes...:lachen::lachen:

....please search pubes if you need the backstory on that fascination, lmao!

but no, i don't think it's for real gross, it was just mad surprising!

This is the 1 reason why i have not started popping pills yet lol
i already have enough upper lip hair as it is and i'm trying my best to just leave it alone
don't need nothing helping it to grow more cause since it's already there it will more than likly grow longer and maybe thicker

How about I dont take biotin and I have to pluck chin hairs regularly.

I went to lunch with a guy friend a couple of months ago, and he staring at me at the stop light. So I'm like what is he looking at, and he goes "AHHHH MR. "INSERT MY LAST NAME"!!!! (caps cuz he yelled, and then started to laugh :lachen:)

Him: "I was looking at you and thinking 'she's such a godess.' Not with those man hairs. :lachen:"

Me: :blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush:

But now I check my "inventory" regularly. :look:

At about 24, I grew a single chin hair and I've been plucking it ever since. It doesn't grow on any schedule. I'll pluck it and not see anything for 3 months then it'll grow back overnight and I'll pluck it again.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it may not be the biotin that's makin' ya'll grow unwanted hair. It just might be "time." Trust me your definition of "normal" will change dramatically between 23 and 40. :lachen:

it's most def the biotin because it is happening to me and i don't take the other stuff your using.

at least i know its working!! :lachen:

it's annoying i just have to remember I gotta "beard" to shave now!! lol...

sorry to make fun...

Aw man, Sareca..say it ain't so!
I have been fortunate not to have a beard, just a 'stache:lachen:but my toe-knuckle hair has been getting a bit off the chain!
...and here I was all set to blame it on biotin...y'all mean to tell me I'm just gettin' old? **smh**

Yeah, it's a dirty little secret we keep hidden from the young ones <insert sinister laugh here>. :look: Don't worry... some amazingly positive things come from getting older too. You couldn't pay me to be back to my 20's.

I turned 29 today and found my first chin hair. I was blaming it on biotin, but now I think that I'm just old.
:crybaby:

Tell me about it. :look: :perplexed I'm going back and forth: laser, electrolysis, laser, electrolysis..... I just can't decide.

I've always been a hairy type, but this chin hair is no joke, especialy when it decides to get ingrown! :nono: *sigh* Darn little things just sprout up overnight...

yes... I think its age too..

How many of us look at those hairs on granny's chin when we go to give her a kiss?...:lachen:.. or even our menopausal mothers?

I've been plucking this one single chin hair for several years. It never dawned on me that it was because I was getting older. :perplexed

Oh goodness! Well, I'm approaching 38 quickly and I get my chin, lip and sometimes sideburns......ummm..hmmm waxed every month. I'm not ashamed. There are so many women..white, black, brown and yellow...young and old.. getting the same treatments when I go into the spa/salon. The hair isn't thick at all but noticeable to me. Waxing takes care of it. I just can't stand plucking and plucking was creating dark marks on my chin and I wasn't having that. I'm still working to get rid of some of those dark marks:yep:. I won't do laser--though it is an option for me--simply because my dermatologist (who is Indian) told me that it wasn't necessary for my few hairs and that sometimes laser treatment in people of color (he included himself) come out worse after laser. So he said he doesn't do it unless absolutely necessary.

I'm using Tri-Luma--prescribed and doing facials regularly--at home and at the spa and that's helping tremendously.

I saw mine at like 35 -- a single chin hair in the same spot about ever 3 months or so. I just pluck it and thank the good Lord that's all It got to deal with right now. I'm 43 and still approaching my prime! :yep:

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, as your estrogen/testosterone balance changes, you will get hair. However, if you start to notice that you are getting a lot of new, dark hairs, then you need to go see a ob/gyn. You could be imbalanced. Once hairs start to grow dark, they never go back light.

Supposedly, spearmint tea daily can relieve the extra DHT.

Yeah, I just plucked out 8 or more. Mines started when I used cream hair remover then the hair grow in more. DO NOT USE cream hair removers they can encourage hair to come in longer and thicker.

Sareca is speaking the truth:yep:. Time will reveal itself with the addition of a hair or two on the chin. Just keep your tweezers in your purse.
