Is this what your normal texture looks like? I want to try but I don't want to risk my curls.
Got mine in the mail yesterday, going to attempt to use this Saturday. This will be my first time straightening my hair in the 4 years I've been natural. I super nervous. I'm still trying to decide what leave in to use that won't weigh down my hair. And of course a heat protectant.
I always use (for the last 10 years)Aphogee leave in conditioner when I straighten. I like it because It's a liquid so it won't weigh your hair down plus it also serves as a heat protectant. I also use heat tamer spray for extra heat protectant because I don't want any heat damage.
What is heat tamer spray? TIA!
[QUOTE="grownwomanaz, post: 24244671, member: 147022"]Yeah, the lowest temp is 375. I normally flat iron on 370-375. If you feel like it's going to damage your hair, return it. You know your hair and everything ain't for everybody.
ETA: There are thick bristles not really plates.
Looks good! You got a lot of nice thick hair!Okay. So I decided to keep going. Haven't decided what to do yet!
Overall, I really liked it. I only went to 375°. Have to know figure out how I'm going to style it
(Funny, how much hair is in my TWA)
Thanks @shortdub78Looks good! You got a lot of nice thick hair!
I bought mine in store yesterday. Got $15 + 40% for a grand total of $40.07 with taxes. Code 888069 exp 9/30

I like it a lot. I would post a pic of my hair, but my hair is so tattered from back-to-back post partum shedding. So, I'm not about to embarassed myself like that.![]()

I used the steam brush and I have to admit, its awesome. It got my hair very straight. I've never blown my hair out so I can't compare but this is the most straight I would want to see my hair since I'm not into the bone straight look.
Anyway, I started on 375 but that was too hot for my hair so had to dial it back to 340 and I still think that was pushing it. Next time I'll start on 310.
Pic of my hair just after I finished. My hair was soft smooth and shiny, although the pics makes it look very frizzy, I promise it's not. I'm genuinely pleased. I wrapped it to sleep. Will post another pic when I take it down
Just post a little section! Don't be embarrassed! you know a lot of us have went through that! Setback is a setup for a comeback! LolThAnk you!!!!! I used it in the store.

Pic of my hair this morning when I took it down from the wrap.
@grownwomanaz i love this thing. I was thinking to become a straight hair natural, this tool is all I need to achieve straight hair.
Okay so I used the iron this past Saturday. I knew my Saturday was going to be super hectic, so I prepoo'd Friday night, shampoo'd and did a quick in shower DC Sat morning. Applied my leave in and twisted my hair then went for my pedicure. When I got back home, my hair was maybe 90% dry. I used the iron on 410 because I wanted my hair pretty straight. I LOVE the results. Next time I'll do it on fully dried hair, because I wound up doing an extra pass to get the damp parts fully dry. I'm not tripping over it, but I don't think it's necessary.
After I finished I added a little moisturizer and wrapped my hair while I got ready. When I upwrapped, hair was swangy, moist and healthy.Totally in love. It's different than when I flat iron, as I like my flat iron result to be super silky hair. This wasn't *silky* per se (not to me anyway) but still amazing. Last night I added a little leave in and a touch of styling mousse to 5 sections and added flexi rods overnight.
. . .
Super duper pleased. My hair feels AMAZING. I haven't decided how often I'll use it and keep an eye out for any negative reactions on my hair, but in my book, winner winner chicken dinner lol![]()
