It took me 5 hours but I got them done! I thought I would share a couple of pics of the results.:yep:

I started out by washing with Terressentials Left Coast Lemon. Here are some pics of me applying the mud and doing a length check:

To accelerate the process I sat under the dryer using the cool setting. Here is a pic of the mud when it's dry (minus the lines in my forehead, I look like a little kid getting into trouble ):

After I washed the mud out, I followed up with Trader Joe's Tea Tree Conditioner and rinsed. I decided that I wanted some length, so I lightly blew my hair out and went the bed. The next morning I got started.

After 5 hours of nonstop twisting (with very few breaks) here are the results of my hard labor:

Disregard my fat wide back...:ohwell:

Someone insisted on getting in the picture:

All in all, I'm pleased with the outcome. I plan on maintaining them by spritzing them with my tea mixture and sealing with some oils I threw together in an applicator bottle.

Now I just need to come up with some creative updo styles.:ohwell: Any suggestions?

They look great! Good job!

Ms_CoCo37 you did an amazing job for your first time! manter26 had some super cute styles she did with her mini braids. Maybe she can give you some input on some updos.

Good job. They look nice!

RoundEyedGirl504, NikkiQ, JLOP09, Thank you ladies! I'm hoping they'll last.

I really hope manter26 is around to share her wisdom with me. I need all the help I can get, so I don't get bored too quickly. :yep:

Lovely twists OP!

Thanks Nikki :)

My bun is probably my favorite style. YouTube has some great tutorials. I think any style on braids or locs can be easily done on twists.

nice! i'm sold on mini twists for my trip in july. between your twists and mahoganyknot's new video on her mini twist. i am loving them.

manter26, I LOVE the bun!:love4: I can't wait to go back and read the blog. My buns are always jacked. I'm beginning to think my head is shaped funny.:perplexed After seeing your pretty bun I'm going to give it another shot and see what happens. Thanks for sharing!

Your mini twists are stunning! That definitely looks like a professional job. My question to you is, how did you get your twists so smooth and frizz-free?

Great job. You are a really fast twister. I would love to be able to do mini twists in 5 hours :yep:

How long will you keep them in?

RngdeCurls, Thank you! The night before, I applied coconut oil before doing a light blowout. I actually used Naptural85's whipped shea butter creme to install my twists:

I think that combination helped me tremendously with having a smooth finish. :yep: After I finished the twists, I brewed a nice tea spritzer comprised of horsetail, nettle, lavendar, linden flower, and rose hip. For fragrance I added lime and Bergamot EOs) I spritzed that on (focusing mainly on my ends), and I sealed with Naptural85's oil recipe

faithVA, Thank you! I'm usually pretty slow at twisting, but I guess I was on a mission yesterday. I knew I had to go to work and I didn't want to go looking crazy. I'm hoping they will last 3-4 weeks, but I have very fly away hair, so time shall tell. I'm trying to make them last longer by wrapping them at night and tying it up. Let's hope that works.

...darn, guess I won't ever be attempting these if I can expect more than 5 hours. It takes me 1.5 hours just to put 8 large twists in lol. I'm so slow!

But it looks great! And I'm sure the amount of time you save each day having to mess with your hair so much + the benefits of PSing is well worth it. Good for you!

bhndbrwneyes, it must have been a fluke because I'm normally slow as molasses, and even then they don't turn out that great.

I'm not sure if I will do the minis again. It was quite a bit of work, but I am looking forward to not having to do much with it. I'm hoping for a little growth retention. :-)

OP...can you post another pic in about a week? i would love to know how you maintain them and how they look. my twists look similar to yours and i can never get them to last more than a couple days before they frizz up...

They really came out nice. When my crown hits shoulder length in twist I may try this. I am thinking frizzy mini twist would just look like dreads so they would still look cute. Great job!

swirl, I sure will! My hair tends to frizz up pretty fast too. I pray these last at least 2 weeks. I would love to get 3-4 weeks out of them though. We shall see...

Seamonster, thank you! I didn't really think about it but you're right, they would look like dreads if I left them alone to frizz up. But I would definitely have to take them down for fear of them turning into real dreads. my hair definitely has a mind of its own. :yep:
