This is when long hair isn't a good thing.

Wow 100% better. She looks more youthful and hip. Super long hair is not for everybody. Plus she is wearing makeup which definitely makes a difference.

Lol, her long hair might have been lovely if she took care of it. I don't think they should've straightened it, she's gonna go home and look worse because that curly hair will spring up.

"Straighten your curly girl, & she’ll be happy for a day. Teach her to love & care for her hair, & she’ll be happy for life”

She does look 100x better though. I hate to see long unkempt hair - it grosses me out.

Man, they could've just gave her a moisturizing/deep treatment, dusting, & glossifying/deepening color. Why do stylist always chop off hair and call that a make-over?

Wow! That long hair was aging her like crazy! She looks a million times better, especially with the help of the stylists. :yep:

You know what though, they could have given her some highlights, a slight trim and left those curls alone and she would have been just fine. This idea that everybody has to be straight-haired is sickening. I think she would have looked better with a halo of curls around her head instead of that wet seal generic look.

Yes, they could have left her curls alone but she needed to chop off that length, because it makes her look younger.

I know her!!! That's my former co worker!! She will talk your ear off!

Eta: she told one of my co workers that she had to apply. Duh @ me, I thought it was random.

Agreed! Let's just say she does maintain the look though, that in itself is going to be temporary because we all know what happens when people flat-iron frequently with even just mediocre hair practices. I have a feeling her hair will end up back to looking dry and brittle if they didn't equip her with a healthy hair practices to follow at home.

I am happy for her. It may inspire to get out there and do new things and change the things that no longer serve her.

I think a conditioning treatment was more in order and maybe a little make-up. There's nothing wrong with changing your look but I think she is going to drift towards her old look. Better to have taught her how to sharpen up her own specific style than something that drastic. Thing is, she is 55. Aging...hell, it goes with the territory, right? Just be yourself.

LMAO - Her son's reaction had me :lachen::lachen:

Hopefully they gave her some products and tips on how to maintain her hair, even if she keeps it wavy.

Makeover on participant #1 was awesome.

Curious, no haircut in 34 years and she is not floor length?

I was wondering about that too. Terminal length? Breakage? Her hair looked really dry and God knows what products she used and how she cared for it.

Wow! I have never seen such a dramatic change as that first lady! She looks like she should be a news anchor now.

I think she looks nice in the make-over pic.

I still vouch for her natural look in the first pic(just tweaked). Now they could have put the same color in, without such a drastic cut. And still have her length but more shaped. A good sleeking hair product to tame her hair would have been in order. Then put her make-up on.

I agree with the poster about the whole flatiron thing. It would get damaged if she did it too often.

Sometimes slight things can make a difference. :yep:

Whenever she washes her hair and takes her makeup off, she's just gonna look like that first pic except with shorter colored curly hair.

She looks much better with the makeover. I am not one to love long hair for the sake of it being long hair. The hair has to compliment the wearer. She looks good now.:yep:

These two look glamorous after the makeover, especially the send person, she looks girly-girly now, her significant other will probably take her out to dinner tonight.

As several persons already said, curly girl method a trim and the same makeup could have also done her well.

someone please get that gif of the sons reaction ... that had me :lachen:

The responses are the same as some here, why do they think someone wants to spend an hour straightening their hair. I hope with that cut once her hair goes back to natural its a great shape. But she needed her hair colored it looks better and healthier.
