I think they try to do something dramatic for the make-over. This is why they straightened her hair. I don't know if the point is to TEACH these ladies how to care for their natural hair and give them something they can maintain versus showing them in a completely different light and switching up their look entirely. It makes for good television and if anything shows these ladies the possibilities of trying something completely new. She won't maintain the straight look? Oh well. At least she tried something new. She looked like some sorta hippie muppet in the 1st pic. I think they did a wonderful job on her.
Her hair was dried and needed some care. Yes, good TV, but the 1998 Hilary Clinton hair is really played out IMHO. Coloring the curls and parting them on the side would have been nice with a deep cut. Her skin was busted. She needed some serious exfoliation. The make up was the best change....
Did yall see the second woman in that video? She was a hispanic/latino looking woman and they made her look like a white woman. Before the makeover, she had shoulder length thick dark hair, and then for the makeover, they cut it into this ear length asymmetric bob with light dirty blonde color like a white woman.
2 months before that ish is chewed up.... her original hair didn't look too shabby, tho! Too long for her face shape I admit. The shorter cut looks better. But you right @Poohbear! She's gonna regret them yt-ifying her hair--looks flat ironed to death too.
The son and the friend need makeovers too. I agree with the previous comments about coloring and deep conditioning her hair and with a Devachanne cut or similar, she'd be able to maintain it herself.
