@virtuenow when I got the recipe I was warned that Sulfur caused some allergic reactions to people with sensitive skin. I don't have any allergies and I've never used a product that made me break out so I didn't bat an eye when I ordered the sulfur. Plus at that time my hair was like 6 inches long and all I wanted was long herrrr

After about 2 days of using the sulfur growth mix, my neck got this weird rash. I also got two huge pimples on my face the size of a newborn baby. It took a while for the rash to go away. To this day I still have the mark on the side of my neck to remind me of my foolish ways LOL
BostonMaria Sorry but :lachen:

Hi, size of small baby!?! Haha, very funny. I think I've experienced the same lump/cyst type reaction from sunblock on face. Yeah, no thanks to sulfur and henna. I hear too many bad stories. I will continue to stay away. @SimJam wow that's a long list! I will have to come back later to finish reading?

hay most of the things we've picked up on here were bandwagons at some time.

I didnt add things like stretching relaxers, using protectants on my already processed hair to reduce over lapping/over processing, adding conditioner to relaxers to reduce risk of over processing, texlaxing, testing for porosity, air drying, moisturizing and sealing .... all these things were bandwagons at some time ... but somehow are not seen to be so (maybe because they are now so entrenched in persons reggies that they didnt realize that in 2004/2005 they were "new" and actually were bandwagons that persons jumped on but are now mainstream.

Im a proud band wagoner .... Ive never had a setback from my wagonist behaviour :yep:

No Heat--I used to diffuse my hair every day CG method
Moisturizing with water-My hair loves water
Protective styling-Now I have a whole collection of protective styles to choose from, I wear a different one every day.

I been dodging the No Poo regimen for 3 years, I always thought I needed shampoo... but now I find out shampoos are too stripping and the ingredients in no sulfates shampoos were always just as bad or even worse for my hair.

I have quite a few: (1)For 5 years I dodged co-washing like it was the plague. I didn't think you could keep hair clean w/o shampoo. I also dodged low-pooing. Now I found this is one of the best things I have done for my hair, getting rid of shampoo. (2) I didn't believe that deep conditioners were any deeper than regular conditioners, now I know differently. (3) I thought protective styling was a joke, (4) and thought all low-heat people were hair nazis. Now I understand!!

Omg, I could have wrote this my self besides #3 because I never had done a protective style before.

The use of sulphate free shampoos and ACV rinses. I dodged these 2 things at first thinking my regime was fine as it was and that I didn't need them. Later, I tried both and my hair loves them. Now, I use ACV rinse once a week and I am in love with my Burt's Bees Pomegranate shampoo and condish.

Washing in Twists
- I didn't think my hair would get clean if I washed my hair in twists. I lose a lot less hair by using this method, and now my hair seems much thicker and longer because of it.

Transitioning! I thought I'd never be able to live without straight hair...I haven't touched my flat iron in months, and I am actually enjoying playing in my new growth as I resist the urge to BC!
