What Bandwagon did you NEVER jump on? What Technique did you NEVER adopt?

Hide your hair challenges (or any challenges)

Cooter cream

Henna (I brought some but too scared to use it sits in my closet)

baking soda rinses

Baby vomit #idied

Way too many to name. I am too scared my hair will fall out.

omg seriously?

I did not know half of those "bandwagons" even existed in the first place.
One thing is for sure my breast milk is intended for my baby and as far as the "cream",do i really need to even comment?NO!

growth aids, excessive supplement/vitamin regimens, lunar trimming schedule, skala, shampoo bars, ph testing strips, raw egg shakes for growth, diatomaceous earth, scritching the scalp, ayurvedic only regimens, no shampoo, oil rinsing, hide your hair challenges, BKT, kia fizzle (adding salt to conditioner), baking soda washing, acv rinses, kimmytube leave in
^^^lol This minus the the hide your hair Challenge ( I was in the Weave it up Challenge) those excessive , vitamin, Herb, and supplement regimens scare the crap out of me Im not throwing my body out of wack trying to get and extra .05 inches a month.

no heat..my hair loves it when the temp is not too hot

Diatomteaceous--no way i am going to ingest stuff that kills bugs

spirulina and cholorella--made me sick for days--i never overdosed my stomach did not like it.

kimmytube

This.

Actually I've taken spirulina but it was years ago and not hair growth or hairboard related - I think I used to mix it in juice and it was good. I don't do many bandwagons. It would be easier to answer in the thread where we list the ones we HAVE been on coz mine would be a short list. I also don't like conditioner washing. I have tried it, but it's not for me.

bandwagon
a popular trend that attracts growing support

Going natural is becoming a bandwagon? :lachen:

Yes I think to some it may be. Some people are going natural now because it the"in" thing- at least in my neck of the woods it's becoming an in thing :look: Someone also mentioned at the begining of the thread that being relaxed can be considered a bandwagon

Co-washing
Protective Styling
No Combing
Hair Vitamins
You tuber conditioner recipes
And I'm breaking one right now b/c I don't normally use these made-up terms for taking care of hair. I still don't know what some of them mean.
I had natural hair until I was 18 so it wasn't a big mystery to me what to put on it or how to comb it, so it's interesting how much people will buy into.
I guess none of them. Even going natural wasn't a conscious decision and I still think it's silly to act like it's a morally superior choice. I think a lot of people jumped on board to grow long hair more than anything.

Monistat, mega tek, sulfer, that horse stuff for hair; can't think of the name. Daily co-washing, wigs, weaves and braids. And henna....never had enough nerve to try it.

i've never tried henna, i'm too scared and it seems like a lot of work
egg shakes, i hate eggs
monistat, nothing against it, just not curious about it.
handmade recipes, i just don't like mixing up stuff, i like to have things as they are

i need vitamins though, but not for hair growth and i've used megatek and it helped my two stress spots fill back in. i stopped using it after that. ovation is nice for a protein treatment.

I've never shingled my hair. I've never tried MegaTek. There's a lot I'll never do actually. Some things I just learned about from this thread/site: cholera, spirullina, Diatomteaceous Earth ( :nono: ), egg shakes

I don't protective style....

:lachen: wow that's pretty inclusive list. It reminded me of some of the ones I forgot. I'd say everything MilkChocolateOne said except I did the antifungal cream or MN thing, the ayurvedic thing, the no-shampoo thing (hair never felt clean), the MSM and chlorella thing.

I haven't tried too many bandwagons. I'm scared to try something that might give me bad results. The only thing I did try was the tangle teezer and that was only to help me take my locs out. It was pretty useful.

I haven't tried most of the products that get rave reviews here. If I need something (flat iron, dryer, conditioner, etc.), I usually look here for reviews and choose from there, but I don't try a bunch of different products. And once I have my staples I stick with them unless they stop working or get discontinued. I very rarely buy something just to try if it's not something I need. My product closet is only full of staples.

henna/ ayurvedic
Megatek
Avoiding mineral oil/petro
Being Cone Free
Curly Girl method
tangle teezer

ACV rinses
Steaming

There are a few of these things I want to try, but others I know will not work for me.
