I'm IN!

Will come back later to write more. GREAT idea

ETA - 1.21.2012

Hair - I'm CBL now after my big chop a few months ago and will be BSL before the end of the year.

Brains - I've gained new clarity about my career path and am going to spend much of thIS year acquiring the skills i need and cultivating the networks/relationships that will make me a success. I also want to overcome my fear of heights by going skydiving. And getting over my fear of driving (due to a childhood accident) by finally getting behind the wheel again for the first time in a decade!

Body - My goal is to go down 3/4 dress sizes by May and ultimately reach my goal size/fitness level & run a marathon in October

Big goals. Big ambitions. Totally happening this year. #CantStopWontStop

I'm working on my hair. I've never been able to push past BSL and I really have tried, so...:look:. I've been suffering from a lot of breakage and I plan to transition, so I've been trimming, but I'm still going to aim for BSL and improved overall hair health this year.

HAIR- I wil be deep conditioning at least once a week, increasing protein to combat breakage, and protective styling with braids or twists (with and without extensions). I'm also going to moisturize twice a day when I'm not in a protective style.

Brains - I have this, but we can all improve! I'll continue reading regularly. I'm reading non-fiction like life stories, memoirs, and autobiographies. I'm also reading historical fiction and romance novels are my guilty pleasure :spinning:. I plan to go on at least one, hopefully two professional development conferences related to my career.

Body - I have this, but I could stand to tone. I've been really lazy about going to the gym. I'm going to dedicate myself to twice a week workouts - one will be focused on cardio and one will be focused on toning.

Edited: pic removed, but will be re-added for comparison at the end of the challenge...

Good Idea.

-I will take a picture of my hair, January 2012
-I will take a picture of my graduation, Summer 2012
-I will take a picture of my current body, January 2012
as starting points.

I could stand to lose 10-15lbs, as well as grow my hair to BSL

Tell us what your working with :yep: and your regi to make it happen.

Hair - Already beyond bsl. Goals TBL and get rid of relaxed ends. Keeping up with my basic regi and planning to trim 1" every 2 months.

Brains - Already all that and a bag of chips in the brains dept. Currently developing a website and companion mobile app. Also, setting up a charitable foundation (always wanted to be a philanthropist).

Body - 'k, you see the vision. I'd like to lose 10 lbs and tighten up, like BAM! Weights @gym 3days/wk, P90X @home 3 days/wk. And on the 7th day, I shall rest.

I'm giving myself a May deadline to pull the body together. I'm planning to reward myself with a Jamaican vacation if I meet my goal by May. I'm motivated. :yep:

You cant rely on BMI Chart alone, because the chart does not take in consideration for muscle mass and body fat percentage

Im so down!!!!

Hair- im only CBL now, but I will be BSL by december if not before. I will DC once a week, shampoo once a week, moisturize and seal everyday, growth oil every two days, baggy and GHE

Body- I will have my flat stomach by 25... which will happen in june. Excersise everyday until it stops being a chore and more of a habit.

Brains- I will bring my GPA up, and finish my seperate penn foster certificate by july, read one book a week

I NEED TO BE IN HERE!! *saving my spot for when I have time to fill out the details*

:drunk: Back! :drunk:

Hair -

Brains -

Body -

Hair: I am BSL, on my way to grazing WSL at the end of the year. I want my hair to be full, healthy, MBL. Regimen and available in my Fotki link.

Brains: Got that! But I am teaching myself to sew on a machine. I would like to be very efficient with crafts under my belt by the end of the year. I'm also making my commute my reading time; I'm starting my third novel of the year tomorrow. :yep:

Body: Work in progress with health challenges and a good BMI. I have a vision, a solid exercise plan, and I'm working on my eating. Most of my information and progress pictures are in the Fitness section. Challenges: BL Blue Team, Venus Index, Hourglass 2012

I'm in - holding my spot.

Hair -
My hair is SL. I hope to at least graze BSB by the end of the year.
I alternate my regimen every week.
Week 1
--Massage scalp with castor oil and sit under heat cap 30 minutes
--Rinse hair and apply mud wash and let sit for 20 minutes to 1 hour
--Rinse, spray hair with tea and DC with AO White Camelia under heat cap for 30 minutes
--Apply leave in and let dry to 70% and reapply leave-in
--Style in either twists or braids

Week1
--Massage scalp with castor oil and sit under heat cap for 30 minutes
--DC on dry hair with AO GPB
--apply tea and let sit for 15 minutes, rinse
--Apply leave in and let dry to 70% and reapply leave-in
--Style in either twists or braids

Brains -
Read the book of the week at least 3 days a week. Not focusing on any particular subject. I do want to read things on doing work I love and creating a business.

Body -
I am currently 151 lbs and I want to reach 140 lbs.
I want to increase my intake of fruits and vegetables and reduce my intake of red meats, sugar and white flour products.
I want to increase my cooking at least to 2x a week.
I want to do yoga daily and work through all 4 of my yoga dvds

ok um i already consider myself a triple threat but i want to join the challenge so i can stay a triple threat, especially body wise because in 2010 i fell off and gained 15 pounds and its just now that my body is right again. also even though my hair is longer than BSL 2011 has been a horrible year in terms of the health of my hair so tommorow i plan on cutting 2-3 inches and starting fresh.

body: tommorow i will be re-starting turbo fire 6x per week and i will be eating healthy.fridays and saturdays will be my off days in terms of food.

brains:i want to make all A's this semester.i applied to emory, university of miami, georgia state, mercer, university of florida, and FIU(backup plan lol) for nursing school so im waiting to see which ones i'll get accepted into.after nursing school im getting my masters and specializing in public health so i can work internationally so this year i plan on upping my language skills.i will be learning french&spanish. i also want to up my cooking skills especially haitian food,so every friday i'll cook

hair: like i said im cutting my hair tommorow im not exactly sure what length yet.im keeping my reggi mad simple this year.
2-3x a month i will rollerset my hair.other than that i'll do braidouts.im cutting out direct heat other than hooded dryers for 6 months.
products i'll be using:
co-wash - herbal essence LTR
shampoo-hair one,silicon mix
leave in- silicon mix leave in conditioner(this stuff is AWESOME)
DC-silicon mix proteina de pearla (this is awesome too lol),matrix biolage conditioning balm
Protein-mizani kerafuse
oils- coconut,jojoba,argan
other: Black tea rinses

ooph tht was long.lol

OP this is an awesome idea! Count me in.

Hair: Im currently a little below BSL, but it's very uneven so I really need to cut it. That will take it a little above BSL I think. I will be deep conditioning and rollersetting weekly or bi-weekly. No direct heat, except for my roots.

Body: According to the chart I'm very overweight, so this is what I will focus on the most. I've already started to cut much of the sugar and starch from my diet, I will be walking and doing some form of physical activity atleast 5 times a week.

Brains: Ok I got this on lock, just started back with school and so far I'm doing great. Prayerfully I will be a pharmacist in the next 5 years.

Girl, you know your body vision is on point :yep: Can you share your philanthropy dreams?

Ahhh, Jamacia. Which city are you going to stay in? Have you been there before?

I'm also In

Hair: Currently i'm just below APL want to be MBL by the years end. I will continue to deep condish every week, moisturize at least 2-3 times a week.

Body: I'm currently overweight by 20 pounds, will work to lose this in 6 months

Brain: working on this as I type, currently attending school.

I'm in!

Body: My weight is in the required range but I do need to tone up and work on my abs. I work out a lot so food is my vice. So I want to work on reducing my sodium and carb intake. If I can lose 10 lbs, nobody can tell me nothing!! :look:

Brains: done and done!! (2 degrees, Ivy League educated....)

BSL: This is the T I am missing. I am almost there!! Need about 1-2 more inches to be there. I have breakage issues that I need to get to the bottom of. So I'm going to do a trial of upping my protein (ie protein DC, molasses in DC, protein leave-ins) because I used a lot of protein based products when I started my HHJ and had little breakage issues so I am trying to get back to that.

I wanna play! lol

Hair: I'm currently below BSL with some of my layers at MBL, but the layers are something serious. lol. I am shooting for WL before the end of the year. Also, I relaxed for the first time last year and hated it, so I'm on a transition now too. I've been PS'ing in kinky twists.

Body: According to the chart I should be 158lbs... I'm 175. My goal is to drop down to 155 by the end of May. That's a 1lb a week weight loss plan that I've been on for over a month. So far, so good. I workout daily and eat low carbs.

Brains: This is the easy one for me. Will finish my master's program in May summa cum laude, and graduated with my BA magna cum laude. If only working out was as easy as getting bomb grades. lol.

Hi! I'm below bra strap,can I join?

Body-Would like tighter abs...

Hair-Thicker,fuller & healthier...

Brains-Constant work in progress..Must stay on top of my game at all times...

Happy Hair Growing!

Maaaan, I'm glad you said it because according to this chart, I am obese and I am anything but. I am 32D-28-45 and I am 5 feet 1 3/4 inches, needless to say I am curvacious and muscular. I look like I weigh about 125 , I havent weighed that little since I was about 19. Now I DO have my problem areas to work on but I am in no way obese. Charts like these are why I had body image problems as a teenager and young adult. I have never been out of shape. I have all 3 IMO. I just want MORE of all 3. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with them all although when my 6 packs pop out I do kind of relax on my work out routine....

My Friend

The Foundation will be in memory of my Mommy. She had a servant's heart, always looking for ways to help people in need. She had a particular drive to feed the hungry. She started a food pantry at her church, she used to take food to the sick and shut in and she'd even buy hot breakfast sandwiches by the bunches and hand them out to homeless people living under underpasses. Girl, when I found out, I was through! She was 71 and putting herself in harm's way to do so. But, she never thought of herself. She felt that if she did what God put on her heart, He had her covered. So, I'm setting up a Foundation that gives money to charities that feed the hungry, the sick and the elderly. I don't have time to do what she did but, I have the resources and ability to raise funds to make sure her good works continues. I especially njoy raising funds through upscale events. It's what I love to do and it's for a good cause. SCORE!!!! Oh, and the Foundation will continue to fund the food pantry that my mom started at her church. That's a must. Uh oh. Now I'm getting all teary-eyed. *fans eyes*

My dream has always been being a philanthropist. In each of our businesses-owned, we've always did things like give scholarships and support community and youth initiatives. It just feels good to be a blessing.

As for Jamaica, it's one of my favorite places to visit. I'm a Sandals hopper. We've been to their Ochos Rios, Montego Bay, Negril and Duns Falls resorts. And as returning guests, they treat us like royalty. You. can NOT. beat the service, the fun and the ambience. We Honeymooned there and continue to go back from time to time to, uh...rekindle.

I usually don't do challenges, but I'm in for this one!

Body: I need to drop 20 more lb to be in "normal" weight range for my height. I've come a long way on that already by just eating healthy and working out. I'm already not a soda person, so I opt for water 90%of the time anyway. The Brita water pitcher was one of the best investments I ever made. MI might be getting treated to Miami this summer. My body has to be right n' tight by then.

Hair: My last length check was in October (siggy), and I was right at BSL. I'm hoping for WL by the end of 2012. Just keep following my current reggie, but I plan on enjoying my hair more this year. The buns are getting old. lol

Brains: I'm in my last semester of undergrad finally. With the Good Lord's will, I will be blessed with my first ever salaried job come August. I want to make more time for reading also. I actually like watching documentaries/History Channel stuff.

It's going down.

Hair -my goal for 2012 is to make it to APL by March (I'm near it now/ between SL and APL), and BSL by August, with full or blunt MBL by December (my 22nd birthday). A girl can set goals, right???

REGI:
-clarify shampoo the first Sunday of every month.
-co-wash and DC every Sunday, using VO5 and Kenra as co-wash and DC, or ORS Replenishing DC
-co-wash every Wednesday, using VO5
-moisturize with Shea Moisture, or Elasta QP (more likely the latter, as the weather becomes colder)
-seal with Carol's Daughter hair balm, or whatever oil I have on hand
-leave-in: Joico leave-in

Brains - Finish my junior year of college with a Shapiro Award, a guaranteed summer 2012 internship, and a 3.6 GPA (Dean's List!). Also, nail down a thesis idea/ plan, and hop to it!

Body -well, I think my body is alright (5'1 in the normal BMI for my weight, height, and age)--I'd like to live a more natural life in 2012, so I'll slowly but surely try to phase out my non-natural body products (body washes from BBW, facial scrubs, etc). My goal is to be "fully natural" by May 2012, meaning 75% of the food I eat is fruit, veggies, dairy and legumes, the other 25% heavy meats, fats, etc. I'll keep you posted and keep around the natural living board for this inspiration!!
