My friend said she's gonna cut my hair off

So I'm out with a friend today and we're talking about shoes in the shoe section of the store, buying shoes. Suddenly she randomly blurts out "mi envy yuh hair, mi ah go cut it off" while staring at my hair. She was very monotone while saying that, she wasn't smiling nor laughing. I could not respond. I was mortified. I know maybe I should have responded but I didn't know how. I was mortified. Now I'm giving her the side eye. I ignored the comment and continued talking about shoes.

What say you?

ETA: this isn't the first time. She's also told me me "I envy you for your hair" while watching me detangle over at her house.

You should've told her you'd cut her to the white meat if she tried.

At least that's what I tell folks when they "play" and say they're going to cut my hair.

...your friend needs to GTFO

What in the hell?! When is this ever funny? :perplexed If she ever does try, cut her. Never let that chick near your hair. EVER. I don't want to see you posting a "my jealous friend chopped my hip length hair back to ear length!" thread in a few months.

I wish a b**** would...

So I told her about it and she said she didn't mean it and she says alot of things she doesn't mean, she doesn't envy me and she's happy that my hair is long.

I've told her what to do if she wanted to get her hair long and healthy and what websites to go to for the longest but she don't bother.

Again... Whup. That. ***!! Get some members in your area to help.

Where is that little website where members were recording their voices? Typing is not giving me enough "ump"

*cough* got a friend like that now. even went as far to tell her friend that i was mixed!!! which she knows im not!!!!!!!

but she came around (FINALLY!!!!) and is taking some of my advice.

see i never push my advice on folks, i only offer when asked. but when you make little comments that are disguised as jokes...cmon let's be woman about it, folks be feeling some type of way but wont admit it. i can never see myself saying that i'm going to cut my friend's hair or something of the like cause that is straight projecting your insecurities onto the next person, i dont care whatcha say!!!

Ummm... I wouldn't hang with her anymore. She sounds crazy.

OP, I don't want to hear about you sleeping over her house and waking up bald. Don't drink nothing at her house you don't pour yourself...

Whenever you are in her company wear a very tight bun. That girl threatened assault on you and disguised it as a joke.

This woman is not your friend. I stay far away from people that can't be happy for others.

Stop detangling your hair at her house at least.

I remember one time I went to my friend's house. Well she's Indian and obviously has no trouble growing long hair even though she lives on chicken wings and Coca Cola.
She was just taking extra long to do her hair and it was just annoying the heck out of me. Then she had the the nerve to say to me "would you ever want long hair?"
Little did she know I spent hours a night on LCHF.
I don't envy her hair but if I did I might have threatened her with those joke type assaults, lol.

I dunno, i think she was just kidding. I much prefer when the person is real about their envy instead of the 'you look better with short hair' or 'this hair doesn't suit you' sentiments people throw around. I think it was a joke, I mean who really cuts off someone's hair??

Haters gonna hate, so I say stay away.

Something like this happened to me years ago, only it was more physical than verbal. I was sitting in class, minding my own business, when this girl behind me (who is surrounded by a hoard of her friends) calls my name and says, "You have really pretty hair." I thanked her with a smile, turned back around, and continued doing what I was doing. The next thing I know, it gets REALLY quiet. Like, crazy quiet. So, I look up from my school work and this b**** is two inches from my head with a huge pair of scissors in her hand!!! I gave her the evil eye and suppressed my urge to punch her in the face. She just smiled and laughed like she was joking.

Thing is, my hair was only SL. Again, haters gonna hate.

Girl, stop slangin yo hair in front of that woman. LOL! She gone cut it off!

You betta keep your hair in a bun around her. Not even a ponytail. She might snip the ponytail while your back is turned

I have a cousin who had said that- I threatened her life. LOL I'll leave it at that. She has also called my hair puerto rican a$$ hair, shes said things like "with your pocahontas a$$ hair" and she has even smacked the ends of my hair while out or in a ponytail. I just laugh and tell her that she can have it too if she would stop that nut-a$$ stylist trim her hair every 2 weeks.

yeah, she wrong and you should sleep with an eye open if you intend on remaining friends with her.

i got senegalese twists about 5 weeks ago at an african hair braiding salon. now, i went in the day before to show my hair so they could look at it first and give me an accurate price. it was in a twistout, but the back was pinned up. however, i clearly stretched the front for them to see the length. when i came in the next day i had it washed and all blown out. the owner and the girl that was to braid my hair just STARED. i thought maybe it looked bad or something, my hair is only just past shoulder length, fine but dense. halfway through, the owner starts talking about about how i need to pay extra cuz my hair is so long. i was quick with her about how i came in yesterday JUST to get a price when she SAW it and that i was NOT about to pay more than she quoted. she argued for not even a minute, because i went to ignoring her.

THEN, the girl braiding my hair started saying, 'your hair is so long and thick. i'm so jealous. i can't believe i'm braiding this hair, i wish mine was like this, i'm so jealous...' i had half a head full of twist, so i couldn't just jump out, but i was a bit scared. i just changed the subject and complimented her clothes and head scarf pairing. anything to compliment her. luckily, i did some spot checks, taking down some twist to be sure my hair was still there. we good.

my hair ain't even THAT long, but i told my sister (who BC'ed about 10 months ago) and she goes, 'your hair is longer and thicker than most chicks. stop acting like it isnt!' i guess she's right if you compare it to the other chicks in the salon that day. no one's hair was longer than the snap of my fanguhs.
