We're starting this Sunday right, aren't we?
Honestly though.... I'm not sure whether I agree but I'm not sure whether I disagree either. I feel like Kimmay presents herself as an expert but I'm not sure whether she has experience beyond dealing with her own hair. She is good at self-promotion though. For some people an afro is an amazing low manipulation style that keeps your hair off of clothes and damaging scrunchies, clips, etc. Each to his own.
what comment? I felt her*side eye* the mixed comment
why does her hair take 5 hours to wash and detangle?

i just think it's excessive4 hours to detangle ONLY as she does it dry......perhaps you need to look into why it takes you less timejk
i just think it's excessive. It has never taken me that long and we have a similar hair type and length. i would be bald detangling dry
The bolded represents my issue with her perspective on this topic.
On one hand, I understand where she's coming from because when the hair is worn in an Afro, the strands are closely intertwined. That element, coupled with the free-form state of an Afro, certainly offers an invitation to tangles.
On the other hand, I think about people like Nonie who wear puffs but aren't plagued with tangles.
As with every other aspect of haircare (and life in general), it certainly isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of issue.

Funny you should mention that, 'cause I remember Nonie saying that she retains less length because she wears puffs and doesn't do protective styles 90% of the time like Kimmay.![]()
