So I sucked it up and straightened my hair, despite all the scaredycat ish I was talking HERE.

I used coconut oil and maxiglide....

More pix can be seen on my bloggypoo, but here are the highlights

Starting point - washed/dc/toweldried hair

I'm so happy with it. I just pray I didn't do any further damage to the already damaged front bits.

Ow ow!!! You are looking good, mama! Great job!!:clap::clap:

I came back to say it one mo 'gin! You did an AWESOME job! Your hair looks GREAT!

Very pretty! Is that your natural texture in the first picture?

Yes, but the hair is wet there so it looks looser than it actually is.

Very Pretty Lady. Don't hurt 'cha self now (:giggle:)

LOL i gave myself double whiplash...but I don't currr

question.... you said evco and your maxi... you put the oil in your hair and then flat iron???

Yup coconut oil and then let it dry, then maxiglided. It works for me. :yep:

OP, you're way less scared of heat than me. When I was flat-ironing my hair, I took three steps I've never taken before in the name of protecting my hair. Not only did I start the thermal protection at conditioning level, but I used two heat protectants during the flat-ironing process. I've heard of folks doing what you did. But that to me is BRAVE!

Your hair looks pretty and shiny and long.

Your hair grows so incredibly fast and beautifully, I might add! Is your diet and water intake just amazing or do you have fast growth no matter what?

I knew you could do it!!! Gorgeous!!!! Love that swang!

I know, it sounds wreckless lol It's what has always worked for me. I bought some heat protectant but it just didn't make my hair feel right... i dunno ::shrug::

I do eat generally healthily i think, the water, i'm really trying to kick that up a notch. :yep: It really grows about 1/2 inch a month though. I'm just trying to retain it better.

OMG Whimsy! This is gorgeous! You performed a miracle with that coconut oil and your Maxiglide! Soooooooooooooooooooopretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yep:
