your favorite shampoo and why

I agree. Creme of Nature has been my favorite shampoo for many years. I have natural 4A/4B hair that has been every color that you can imagine. After I use creme of nature extra moisturizing formula my comb slides right through my hair.

I Just Tried CON!!-Daviine Here\'s Your Answer!

I just tried CON for the very first time only a half hour ago and I'm taken aback..I heard a lot about this shampoo, but I didn't think it would work well for me (I used to use their neutralizing shampoo when I was a kid and I hated it!!! And their perm took out my mom's hair, so I wanted nothing to do with their products..But I'm very very impressed!!

It made my hair really soft, really detangled (which is very very rare for me) and WITHOUT any ALS'..Can I say that this will be my new regular shampoo?! I will alternate with my other one just to make sure this stays effective...And to think I was going to alternate with this one...

I just had to add..I didn't see any hair in the sink (a major first!!) and I'm due for a touch-up..Which typically means that my hair is really tangled AND more hair comes out when I wash it than I would like...So I'm VERY VERY happy with CON...

Thank you all for suggesting this..I don't know why I didn't purchase it before...And I know I would never have done so, if I wasn't on this board (or at BHCAB where they also recommended it)..

Its a shame when I have to correct a conditioner that dried my hair out by using creme of nature shampoo!

CON all the way!

[/ QUOTE ]

Girl--I know the feeling. I have had to correct some messed up "conditioning" with CON. What a shame!

And yes my favorite shampoo (for the past 9 or 10 years) is Creme of Nature Ultra Moisturizing .

My sister never posts but she used to lurk so I'll tell you her favorite shampoo: Creme of Nature Ultra Moisturizing.

I was once hooked on cream of nature also. But then I tried Keracares' "Hydrating, Detangling" shampoo. It has been my favorite since, because it seems to have the same affect as the cream of nature with more softening, and it smells better. It also rinses out more easily.

My favorite is the Abba Moisture Scentsation... I love the smeill and the peppermint and how it tingles my scalp.. I also like how it gets my hair sqeaky clean.

Am I alone in that I don't like condtitioning shampoos like CON? I like my hair to squeak after I wash it... I do not like that condtioned feel because it doesn't feel clean to me.

So far, cream of nature ultra moisturizing is the only one that does the job of detangling and softening this thick kinky bush of mine lol. I dont know what i'd do without it.
i would like to try motions lavishing conditioning shampoo oneday though.

You're not alone. While I don't like a "squeaky" feel after a shampoo, I don't like the slippery CON feel, either. I used to, but not anymore.

I used to use CON, but now I'm hooked on Lanza Protein Plus. I might re-introduce the CON to mix up my regimen

Nay, my fave is Motions Lavish Conditioning Shampoo. I love that it leaves my hair really really soft! And sorry, I have to add another shampoo here. CON definitely gets the heads up from me as a great #2. I haven't used this shampoo in years, then had to pull it out of the closet because I ran out of my beloved Motions. I forgot how great this shampoo makes the hair feel.

thank you so much for answering. i have that shampoo but there are so many kinds of cream of nature shampoos that its a bit confusing to know what everyone is using. its good that i have the right one.

God bless you all.

Did you all know that Creme of Nature has Sodium hydroxide in it? I don't know why that would be an ingredient. That's why a lot of people were saying it was harsh on their hair. Has anyone else had adverse effects?

tracyannette: this is why this whole thing is so confusing to me.

i will have to look around and see if i can find this one as well and compare and contrast. there are so many creme of natures out there so when people say they use cream of nature i am like which one???

soslychic: there was a thread about this a couple of months ago and if you like you can do a search. i think what was explained was that the sodium hydroxide that is used in the shampoo doesnt have the same effect on the hair as the sodium hydroxide for a relaxer. the ladies went into details into it.
as far as i know i dont remember hearing anyone saying cream of nature making their hair hard. i have heard quite the opposite actually. also considering its a stable for many ladies on this board who have gorgeous heads of hair i think its a good product.

Good question. I didn't know there was more than one formula and different packaging until I started frequenting hair boards. I've used these:

I've also used the one in the white bottle with the yellow top and the green label.

I've never heard that it was harsh on anyones hair. I've never tried the one in the red and white bottle or the yellow and green bottle. But I do know the one in the white and green bottle makes your hair really soft with lots of slip when you rinse it out. Have you tried the CON in the white and green bottle yet?

Thank you for your response. I wasn't wanting to give it up. I do love it too.

I've heard some cases of people saying that it was harsh. I couldn't believe it either, but that's what they said so I decided to look into it. No I never saw that post. I don't think I've been a member for 2 months yet. I'll search for it. Thanks!

I used the Revitalizing shampoo and conditioner for permed/color-treated hair. I color my hair during the summer and fall months, and I use it to keep my color looking fresh and new. They have one for all hair types that's new from the Renewal 5 x line.

I agree nay007 i love creme of nature {white bottle with green lettering and yellow top} because it DETANGLES and MOISTERIZES.

Creme of Nature for Normal Hair (all i know is the bottle is white
wink.gif
)... it detangles my hair sooo well with absolutely no work on my part other than wielding the comb.

I stopped pooing nothing seemed too work, my hair felt less healthy and more eww, I just did not like the way poo made my hair feel, I may have to start using it again, because of build up of Conditioner washings, what is good one for naturals

Paul mitchell awapuhi shampoo. very gentle to my hair.

i can't believe so many people love cream of nature, that stuff always leaves my hair so dry and brittle. one of my old stylists (and he was a great one who was actually concerned about hair health) said that cream of nature was one of the worst products that you could use on your hair cause it was so damaging.
