Has anyone ever used this? I was looking at the one by ebene. They say it is suppose to be good for the hair and detangle. I know some of you ladies make your own shampoo using this...can you tell me if it detangles, moisturizes, etc? I may have several posts regarding certain products so please be patient. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

In your shampoo thread I mentioned using Shikakai, which is often used with as a soapnut powder along with Reetha (or Ritha) and Amla.

Loads of Indian women use it to darken their hair and cleanse without stripping. I didn't think it would work in the same on type 4 hair, but it really does. Shikakai also speeds up your hair growth.

Here are some links if you want to read about it.

Thank you so much BrightEyes,

I knew there was another name for "soapnut" but for the life of me I couldn't remember. I was trying to do a search because I remembered it being discussed before. I just hate it when I have something right on the tip of my tongue but can't remember. /images/graemlins/confused.gif /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am definately going to read this information and appreciate you sharing the sites. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anytime! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

There is a lot of information out there about these plants because Indians use herbs alot.

They smell a little funny (no perfumes), but the shampoo cleans well without stripping the hair. I've only used the dry hair and the moisturizing shampoo . I also have the Amla Conditioner, but I haven't tried it yet. I got the shampoo from myvitanet.com

Thanks Sassygirl125 for the site. I will definately check into it. I think I have seen these at Whole Foods, if I am not mistaken.
