I just love it, I've beeing doing it for over 15 years 'cause my hair is soft, straight and under control for a whole week. It could be a lot of manipulation but if you don't have to touch your hair for 6 more days, I think it's really worthy:)

I would love too, but I dont think my hair is long enough. I've had stylist do it to my hair when it was longer years ago and it gave my hair so much body.

I used to do it back in the days but I'm lazy now and it's timeconsuming. I only wear my hair in protective styles so it's not worth it for me.

I don't know how to do it and I am too lazy to learn. Maybe when my hair is longer i'll get motivates. Ladies who have pics of their rollersets are so pretty.

so many reasons... i'm lazy... i hate sitting under a dryer... i feel like i'd be wasteful if i washed but then i miss my daily cowashes like crazy...

that's why i only get rollersets or blowouts maybe 4 or 5 times a year...

I rollerset my hair for a long time, but, I'm taking a break. This weekend I am going to air dry and then curl with caruso's and then wear it in protective styles, at least that is what I plan.

I am taking a break on the rollersets because my hair looks and acts better with direct heat, not too often of course. The rollersetting is wasting my time because it only looks nice that one day.

What she said (bold) :yep:

I've got to study the tutorials that the rollersetting pros of LHCF have been so kind as to make for those of us who are in need. The last time that I tried resulted in a mess. :look:

I've made the effort to rollerset on a regular basis, but it seems like a loose a lot of hair in the process. Lot of manipulation.:( Maybe it'll work better after a fresh relaxer. My hair feels dry afterwards, also. Could be the products I use:perplexed

i Love roller setting BUT....at this point in my transition theres just too much new growth for me to pull the fine tooth comb through without ripping half of my hair and the only way i like to roller set is with using a fine tooth comb. I checked off "no-2 much manipulation"

Same here only it was a hawt mess. :look:

Since you guys don't do rollersets like that? How are you "doing" your hair on wash days. Braidouts and buns only? Using heat like me? What do you guys do. I need some options so I can lower my heat.

My usual corny wet bun. :ohwell:

I don't wet bun as much, even though it gave me decent results. I just slap in two pig tails and call it a day until it's 80-90% dry, then I take it down... add a little more product then put it back up.

Two reasons:

1. Hair is prolly too short still to get a nice looking outcome.

2. Dont know how.

After I hit a couple of my hair length goals Ill prolly try it a few times. I think rollersets are very pretty.

Im with you on this one. I leaves my hair smooth w/o having to apply heat. Also I dont have to mess with it for a few days and its not all dry looking like when I air dry.

I absolutely adore roller setting. I rollerset after every wash and it takes me 20 minutes put all the rollers in my hair and 90 minutes under the dryer. My hair comes out lovely: silky smooth, soft, and lots of shine. It's time consuming but well worth it. It straightens my hair and it's the only heat I put in my hair. Although now that it's getting hot, tooo hot, I think I will be air drying mostly this summer.

I rollerset every once in a while. I don't mind actually doing the rollersets, my problem is I don't have a dome dryer big enough to accomodate the rollers. This means I have to sleep in them. Which I hate because I sleep "wild" so I just don't bother with rollersetting. My next problem is when I shower I love wetting my hair. I still feel dirty if I haven't co-washed. There is no point in rollersetting if I am co-washing daily soon.

my reason isn't listed, but i don't like how it appears to shrink my hair(which i think is due in part to the fact that i have layers). i even went up to larger size rollers, but I still didn't like it. when i get to full BSL i think i'll give it another try.

I have layers, as well. The trick is using various size rollers. Also, if you don't want your hair to shrink, use a roller that's a size up from the one that shrinks your hair.:)

You need nne more option, "because I SUCK at it".

I've been trying but I don't know what I do wrong. I am not good at it at all and wind up all upset and just wearing buns anyway.

My answer is everything that you typed....:ohwell:

I generally rollerset my hair every week, but I've stopped for the past few weeks because my newgrowth is out of control. If you see my avy, that was a pic taken in April after two weeks post-relaxer and my roots are poofy and way underprocessed. So I stopped rollersetting because I didn't want to over comb of manipulate that area. I've been airdrying as of late and will continue to do so all summer.

I have fine hair, too, and maybe rollersetting is far too much manipulation right now.

When I finally get my touch-up in August, I'll start rollersetting again... ;)
