This is called longhaircareforum, and I was just curious as to how many ladies on here are cutting their hair. So I put a poll up, so please answer.

Thanks!

Well I cut my hair last month because it was thin and uneven. I like even ends.

The only time I ever cut my hair was because it was damaged, not because I wanted to.

When I first stumbled across this site, I thought it was only for people that had long hair. lol

In June, I cut an inch off because my ends were very thin.

I'm getting close to my final goal of full WL, so I've decided to cut an inch off every year in the month of June, to maintain thick, blunt ends.

Split ends. There is no other reason to cut my hair especially when I'm trying to reach Thigh length by the end of next year.

I did too. I cut off 4 inches of damaged uneven ends back in May. I was severely uneven and I couldn't take it anymore. :nono:

So did I!:lachen:

I think most people only cut or trim when absolutely necessary. I know I've had 3 trims in the past 6 months because of some damage I had from braids...definitely not by choice.

I don't think this site is necessarily just for people with long hair. I think most of us are all after healthy hair first and foremost and for some that means cutting. Also, some people just like a short cut.

As for me, I only cut when I see split ends, and it'smore like a dusting.

Actually, when I get some length, I will be cutting away damage and uneveness.:yep:

Until that time, I will just be doing S&D as necessary.

So, I voted Damage.

I did a major cut when I BC'd and a big trim in May because I neglected my ends. I do not think most people on here just go chopping their hair for whatever reason unless it's vital.

With that said, whilst this forum may be LHCF, I think the most important thing it promotes is healthy hair. It's open to everyone no matter their hair goal. I don't think it's everybody's aim to grow their hair non-stop until some length beyond APL or whatever. I think there are people want who like to experiment with their hair yet still want it to be healthy.

I cut 3-4 inches because I did not like the way my texlax made my ends feel...(I texlax in June) I an above apl now.. I was below bstrap... I will be transitioning back to natural. .. this will give me a good start.

I cut out boredom or when I am just tired of the length! I don't color my hair and I don't really know how to style it so I will cut it when I need a change. Also, I've had long hair basically my entire life (cut it to chin length twice) and at times once it gets beyond SL it can be aggravating. So I cut it. I'll usually put it in a ponytail then get a friend or co-worker to cut the ponytail. My head usually feels so much lighter and better afterwards. :lachen::lachen:

I cut my hair to get rid of damage initially, and then to get rid of layers....Now I'm damage and layer free and can just grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only cut my hair when I need to, but lately I have been wanting to cut my hair short again. Good thing I cannot find my hair cutting scissors.

I'm cutting because I got a dye job in 08 that caused my hair to be very damaged. I am cutting all the dyed hair off that has not grown out. I'm also transitioning to natural as of right now.

I voted for boredom. My hair is about 2 inches from APL, but I want a stylish look. So I keep going back and forth on if I should cut it.

I bc'd but I don't mind cutting my hair. I like style and beautiful hair. Your hair can be long and healthy but not beautiful or fitting to your features. That's kind of pointless to me so I will cut for style's sake and to keep neat ends and such. It might take me longer to reach my goals but at least I look fly on the way. :)

I'm still growing out the damage from a trip to a "horrific" salon experience. Last cut was 1-2 inches a week ago. It feels so good to have a fresh hair cut. When it grows out uneven or I still see damage, which I do- I will continue to get regular cuts.

I am a recent BC-er, and while LHCF is a great resource for long hair, I love the fact that I can get hair questions answered, and find information about healthy hair care here.

I cut it because I suffered from some alopecia in the nape and single strand knots from too many WNG's without proper care. My hair is short, but I can grow it out with confidence and in good health using the advice of the women on this site.

I could care less about long hair that's unhealthy - I'd rather be bald than deal with that, so being on a site about long hair is meaningless unless it is also about hair health, and that's why I hang around here with my short-haired self! :)

I voted other because of regular trimming maintenance that I always seem to neglect.

Ends need to be trimmed that is my motto, scraggly, thin, see through ends and severely uneven ends are unattractive even if your foot length.

I cut my hair off because after two years on the board attempting to grow it, I had way too many setbacks no matter how many protective style I wore or how much I babied my ends. It seems like my hair gets to a length right above my shoulders then it mysteriously begins to break off and I have to cut it down to chin length and endure another few years struggling to get past my shoulders and retain length.

After another drastic cut, I finally decided to just go for it and chop ALL of it off. I was tired of buns, tired of ponytails, tired of just worrying about hair length and goals. So I did something that I NEVER in my life thought I could/would do and now I've been happily ear length for more than a year now.

I am more on the board for entertainment purposes now that hair growth. I can't give the site up no matter what my hair goals are.

i am scissor happy, i think its from years of my stylest telling me I need to get trims regularly if i want my hair to grow... i have only recently learned that as long as the ends aren't split they are fine. I still have trouble excepting uneven ends but i have only been on my HHJ for 6 months
