Why do I feel offended by this post???? She said, "This is LONGHAiRCARE Form...." Like those of us who don't have long hair and have cut our hair for one reason or another, shouldn't be here or something. I cut my hair because it was uneven and slightly damaged after months of glue in weaves and braids. I am starting all over and a lot of women on this forum have BC and are starting over, I don't want to feel offeneded but I do for some reason. I want long hair one day and that is why I am here. To gain advice. Information, and support.

I cut off 4 inches today. My ends were thin and made my hair look uneven. Now my hair is fuller and one length. Couldn't be happier!

I cut about 2 inches 1.5 months ago after taking out my kinky twist. They were uneven and not as thick as the rest of my hair, though I wouldn't say they were see through. I cut 1/2 inch yesterday to even up my ends, because one side grows faster than the other. It may be the way that my new growth comes in as well :ohwell: but I like my ends thick and even.

I may need to throw my shears away and get my ends trimmed professionally every 3 months or so when I relax...I'm stretching my relaxers now :happydance: so we'll see... Maybe I should trim every six months. :perplexed Honestly, I am more concerned with the health of my hair than I am with the length. I figure the healthier it is the more it will grow, anyway.

LOL @ this thread.

I must admit everytime I see someone who cut a significant amout off (not BC) I picture a "long hair" fairy lose it's wings..lol

I cut about 4-5 inches off the back last year. I was growing a mullet, and I didn't want a mullet, plus my crown area was much shorter than the back from some leftover manipulation damage. So after I lopped off the back, I had to have a professional go in and do damage control because my ends were shredded.

Thank goodness the stylist did an excellent job and my hair still has a good shape to it, and thank goodness for my steamer helping me keep my hair healthy.

No more haircuts for me.

I'm on TapaTalk so I cant vote. I cut about 2 1/2 inches this year because my hair was uneven. I was also trying to do a blunt cut, but my hair grew in a V anyway lol should've kept my damn hair!!!

When I cut my hair in the summer of 2009, it was because I wanted a bob. It turned out to be the best thing I've could've done because my hair is now even when before I was holding onto damage because of the length.

With the knowledge I've gained here, I'm confident in being able to grow my hair back. Before, I'd be all "OMG, I'm screwedddd".

I cut my hair b/c I am in love w/short hair right now. I have made the decision that even when I grow it out, I will probably not ever let it grow out past shoulder length(if that) I want to have a "style" at all times...and I feel w/longer hair I don't!

I don't think this site is necessarily just for people with long hair. I think most of us are all after healthy hair first and foremost and for some that means cutting.

I completely concur! I joined last year bec 1) I saw how long ppl were able to grow their hair and 2) I had just suffered 4-5 inches of damage after visiting a Dominican salon. I wanted to not only see what lengths I could grow my hair to, but to have it healthy again!

Over this past year, I've cut bit by bit. Now, I can officially say (I think) that the damage has been cut out!!! Otherwise, I only cut to S&D.

That haircut is FIERCE!!!!!...

I cut to BC a cpl times..and to trim when I feel my ends are raggedly...my last major haircut was 9/09 and I dont plan get a serious trim again until I'm @ least MBL..then I'll trim back to BSL to get rid of any damage..

Some hooker gave me a hack job instead of a trim. I figured if I'm going to have short hair, I might as well have cute short hair so I got it cut into a bob. It's growing out quite nicely. I have some damaged ends that need to go but I won't start trimming them until I reach BSL. Then I will keep it that length until the bad ends are gone.
