I keep going back to the bootcamp challenge for 2008 thread and I just can't envision myself making the commitment. I mean, in truth, I already do alot of what the challenge entails . . . but I have been so looking forward to being more adventurous with my hair styles this year . . . especially incorporating the use of flat irons (to help stretch my relaxers as well as style) and to get out of my rut of wearing buns all the time. I'm thinking of starting a semi-bootcamp thread for those who (like me) just can't hang . . . I want the results, but I just don't know if I can make the commitment to get there . . . .

Anyone else feelin' me?

Well that's why they call it a challenge and not a lazy afternoon stroll. :drunk:. Commit to 1 or 2 3-month sessions. Or better yet alternate: commit to 2 sessions wher you bun it first, then after March you do your flatironing, then June back to bunning, then your flatironing again or some combination like that

@ the bolded, I feel ya, Glib :yep:

I figure once I figure out how to deal with 12 wks of new growth w/o heat part-time (for my first ever 12 wks stretch) I'll have enough cajones to sign up for session #2...

I am feeling you seriously Glib Gurl. I bought that fhi iron and have not even used that sucker yet. I have even been thinking about dropping out it.
But i know it will do my hair really good to keep up what i have been doing. Thats the real thing that has me sticking yo my guns and staying on.

If, you do a couple of the sessions. I promise you, you won't regret it:grin:.....

You wont regret it at all. Dive in or make it your own personal challenge with a few extra passes. You will see results.

That is what I need help with too. I still might sign up though.

I'm scared but I committed to 2 sessions & after doing some hair planning & figuring out exactly when I'd use my pass during each session, I actually went ahead & mapped out my "hair plans" for the last 2 sessions & I think it will be very beneficial to my goals to do this for the entire year. For example, I flatironed my hair today for the last time until the end of March. That's when I'll use my pass for session 1. I will use my pass for session 2 for Memorial Day weekend. For session 3, I will use my pass for my birthday in September & then I will do a flat iron & trim for Christmas for the final bootcamp session. So each session, I'm giving myself something to look forward to. I'm also going to try & do C&G - braiding 2 months, resting 2 months next year as well. I think that'll help me stay Bootcamp focused. HTH...

I am totally scared of the 2008 bootcamp but I jumped right in and joined for all 4 sessions. I'll just figure things out as I go and at least I get a pass for each session. I'm motivated by how my hair will benefit from this.
