Which Product(s) Were RAVED About On LHCF, But Just Didn't Work For You?

i have 3c/4a hair and I hated:
1. MTG-burned my neck and turned my jewelry.(smell didn't bother me)
2. salerm 21
3. amla oil- too oily
4. megatek- drying to my hair
5. cw's-drying
6. glycerine/ water mix-made hair gummy
7. Acv rinses- drying to my hair
8. henna-dried my hair out but i love the color so i may keep this one and use lots of conditioner to offset the dryness.
9. NTM-whole line
10. nioxin recharging complex
11. mane & tail- drying
12. aussie knot forgotten- worked at first, but now it doesn't
13. yeast infection cream- made my scalp nasty.
14. aubrey organics( white camellia and gpb) gpb okay but nothing to ride home about.
my hair loves the ors- whole line(except poo's), kenra mc and moist. poo, frenchee tar shampoo, nutress-hair protein pak gold. basically my hair loves protein. and creme of nature poo ( red and white bottle)

Hair is so personal. As I was reading through the thread I kept thinking "Say it ain't so!!" because I love Salerm 21, NTM, Nexxus, and Surge. That's why I don't like stylists that stick to one product line for all their clients. One person's trash is another's treasure.

I don't like the ORS moisturizing lotion. It left my hair with white flakes and wasn't moisturizing at all.

What didn't you like about the mango and lime oil? Also what dominican conditioners didn't work for you?

It's a wierd brown color. I really don't know how I would describe it...

The island oil is awful, it left my hair so dry!!! How does oil make your hair dry?:confused: I tried it a couple of times, wet hair,dry hair, nothing helped.

Rysell coconut rinse
Nacidt Avocado conditioner

I just gave up after that.

Don't mean to butt in but maybe if you try layering the oil over your moisturizer to seal in the moisture. Oils alone don't provide any moisture so maybe that's why you're experiencing dryness. Most people use them as "sealants".

That is what I did. I use WGO or Aphogee EFA oil with my leave in and my hair feels great. I try the samething with island oil and my hair feels like straw.

Me too( And I bought the whole line of Surge products!)
M-T-G (It was just a stinkin` greasy mess!)
ORS replenishing pak (neutral, nothing spectacular)
Megatek (made my hair hard & extreme breakage)
Salerm 21 ( did nothing spectaular, fragrance so strong it gave me a headache)

Natural conditioners and shampoos from Aubrey Organics
The New Formula of Lustrasilk Conditioners (the older formula was so good!)
Tresemme :barf:
NTM Shampoo :swearing: (The conditioners were ok i guess)
Keracare humecto (It felt really good in my hair at first but after rinsing my hair didn't like it)
Rysell tropical Coconut Conditioner (But the Avocado one is the TRUTH).


I am a range of 3c-4b but I tell people I am 6f.
 
Dominican conditioners are horrible for my hair...Nacidit, 10 en 1 (both reg and plus versions), salerm wheat germ mask I have to add too much to it to get *decent* results.
Elast mango butter, just sat on my hair
CW washes dont work for me.
My bad luck is with relaxers:
affirm- underprocessed ragged looking air after 2 weeks
mizani, revlon, vitale- all too strong for my hair... luckily i switched to no=lye and se phyto now, I dont think i'll ever switch again)
 
Elasta QP Mango Butter left my hair non-moisturized/hard
NTM hair mask did nothing
Lutrasilk Shea Butter did nothing after awhile
Infusium 23 left my hair dry
Any oil pre-poo treatments

giovanni direct- hated it

joico k pac - hated it

nexxus humectress, therapy, keraphix - hated it

miss keys 10 en 1, silicon mix, nacidict olive oil rinse - hated it

herbal essesnce for dry damaged hair- hated it

ntm mask, silk touch and shampoo- hated it

silk elements line - hated it

pre poo - hated it

adding oil to conditioners - hated it

the absolute worse was capilo cinnamin and sole shampoo and conditioner - set my scalp on FIRE
 
I mostly agree with the opinions here:

Nexxus humectress- hated it! It didnt do a darn thing to my hair

Suave milk and honey for pre-poos- hated it. My hair was shedding something awful so I just threw the Suave in the trash where it belongs!

Neutrogena TM hair mask- was alright but its full of silicones.

Keracare shampoo- not that great and they have terrible harsh ingredients! Including the humecto that has all the mineral oil.

Im just gonna stick with my beloved Elucence line, I love the way it makes my hair feel, especially the Elucence MB conditioner. BTW, I think I have 4a/b hair type.

I can't remember if I posted this yet or not, but that dang ORS Olive Oil relaxer cannot get my hair straight.

SO many people love it, but my hair hated it. It did not do anything bad or give damage, it just doesn't straighten my hair.

Hawaiian Silky Spray activator mess. Hated it.

Suave Milk and Honey....Did nothing for me.

I really don't think my hair likes Suave or VO5.

I saw someone said their hair didnt agree with Carol's Daughter. Falling out my chair. lol My hair loves that too.
