where was your hair last year?

Last year I was cbl, 7in. I am now bsl, 13-14 inches.
I have been natural since nov 2010, and I contribute my progress to better haircare practices. I rely on daily cowashes, weekly deep conditioning, and I moisturize once every 2-3 days. I also wear about 3-4 installs a year for about 1-1.5 months at a time and I regularly protective style.

My goal this year is to graze wl and to make it to 18in. :)
I plan to get there by protective styling like crazy and by working out. I plan on being more health conscious and drinking more water.

This time last year my hair was pretty healthy and a little below SL. Now I'm APL and my hair is a little healthier than it was last year. I mistreated it for most of the year and ended up with major breakage issuesso I think that's why I didn't have as much growth as I would llike. I'm back on the wagon now though, and I'm back to having almost no breakage.

Last December, my locs were grazing WL.
This year, I have a twa. I cut my locs because I wanted big hair. My goal for 2013 is to reach APL, my hair has grown a lot in th 6 months sinc I cut my locs.

hair was at a stand still. didn't really see any growth.

did a good trim in after i came back from pr in august. put my hair back in mini braids. got a good quality satin bonnet. sticking to a regimen. and i'm seeing retention.

the only thing i need to work on and this is the most important thing is my internal health. that is where i'm lacking. so i will say it again, i'm doing a full detox, upping my water intake, taking my vitamins and exercising. and i know i'm going to see some serious results by summer.

At the end of last year I cut my hair into a mohawk and I finally started to grow my hair in Feb and my hair if doing well this year my longest layer is collar bone length and my shortest is at my jawbone.. by my bday next year (Dec 28, 2013) I will be closing in on bsl

Sent from my EVO using LHCF

Last year around this time I had WL texlaxed hair but was transitioning, about 5 months in. Now I'm fully natural, almost APL. I kept my hair in a moisturised braid-out updo for literally all of 2012 because that was the easiest thing to do. I guess I retained quite a bit. Looking forward to more retention in 2013!

Last Year
Deep in my transition (over 70+ weeks)

Fully natural and loving it.

APL in April. Then cut it to NL because I wanted to get rid of all the layering. Grew back to APL in October, and I'm headed to BSL.

Past APL, but damaged from me abusing heat like it was going outta style. I cut off 4-5 inches in February and now I am back to APL, but much healthier. I'm hoping to be approaching WL by this time next year.

Last year, I was past WL on the way to HL.
This August, I got to Hip length. Then I did my transition chop!
Back to BSL. Now MBL on the way to WL.
Can't wait.

Last year my hair was APL, and now its ear length? I think....I'm not sure, but the back reaches my collarbone.
I shaved my head in March to start over....It was an unhealthy APL.
I'm not a fan of keeping damaged hair just because it has length to it.
I did that for too long and got tired of it.

Last year my hair was shoulder length and natural.

And this was taken last night! I am officially APL and so excited.

I attribute this progress to keeping my ends off my shoulders. It took a hell of a long time to get to APL, though.

Last year, my hair was HL and transitioning. Now, my hair is fully natural BSL and I'm LOVING it! :drunk:

Last year I was BSB when straightened, and this year I'm MBL when straightened, so I think I've done pretty well. I attribute this to long term protective styles and low manipulation, gentle detangling, and only using heat 2x per year. On my way to WL and beyond.

Last year I had a huge afro puff. This year I am almost BSL and relaxed. I think what caused progress is by doing nothing. I am lazy and don't like to do much. Fortunately, my hair likes my laziness. :)

Ohhh wowww.. I did not know u relaxed. Whenever I saw your straight styles, I thought you'd been flat ironing. Either way, it's beautiful!! And I'm pro do-what-you-want-to-your-hair. So, what made you relax?

Last year I was chin/neck length and I blow dried and flat ironed weekly so it stayed at that length for a long time. Now I'm SL and I only heat styled twice this year.

My hair is looking better and is longer. I have cut out sulfates, cones, parabens, mineral oil, petroleum, (Most of my products are purchased online). I treate my hair better and it is improving. It is well past shoulder but no APL yet. I will continue to provide hair care the best that I know. Here is July in pink and green is December. I don not have one fraom last December.

mbl - bsl last year

bsl this year. my fault though. I was blowing out too much and i tested arosci intensive restructuring system on my hair. Those pieces broke/shed a bit, so i trimmed the damage.

MUST REACH full MBL - WL by December 2013.

I bc'd in 7/11 and was around ear and neck length. I looked like little Orphan Annie when I wore my wngs. Thank goodness those days are over. I had a few trims/cuts since then. As of 10/12, I was @ least APL.

amazing Thank you. I could not see out of my rearview mirror anymore, LOL! Plus I missed my relaxed hair. I will BC again knowing me. :) But when I do I will keep it low like Amber Rose instead of letting it grow in.

Last year my hair was SL, in decent condition except for damaged edges... this year, I'm grazing BSL and my edges have filled in a bit (but still have a long way to go), and my hair feels thicker and stronger, with fewer split ends. On the negative side, I have a lot more gray hair now, although the plus side of that was that it led me to henna, which while it hasn't covered my gray (alas), has definitely had a positive effect on my overall hair health.

I attribute my progress to a consistent regime, low manipulation (I mostly wore wigs this year, and moved towards finger detangling and less combing), deep conditioning, regular moisturizing. Henna has also helped (every 6-8 weeks). Next year, I'm focusing on retaining length, babying those edges and learning to style my hair better so I can wear it out more. I think I'll still wear wigs pretty often though.
