When can SouthernTease claim APL?

I just tried it and I can pull my hair under my armpit, with about 1" going under the pit. Make sure I keep my head straight ahead and avoid tilting it to the side. It worked. I'd say that I'm right at 7". No more trimming for me!!!
 
I also vote 6, and to piggyback on what most everyone else has said, your hair is gorgeous! I subscribed to your blog and love the inspiration!
 
I think you're there now, but I do understand the perfectionist that you are so I say wait until 7 inches. I just started claiming shoulder length because I wanted to make absolutely sure it was there. BTW I love your blog and your hair!!!

LMAO, I was like "uh oh, shes gonna have to clarify again...and she wont be happy." I think you've done a great job ST, I've followed your BC and you've done so well. I think you're slightly APL, and if you want, claim it. I mean, realistically it's going to get longer from this point anyways. I think my hair's at the same point as yours, just that I have this crazy V that's a bit past APL so I'm confused about it. Maybe I should ask the board too, maybe...
 
6" inches is not even close to APL on me. I have a long a neck and the distance between my neck and armpits is very long. APL is more like 8-9" on me.

ETA: I see this is about you. I can't see your pic form work so I guess I will have to wait until I get home.

Yeah... I BC'D in July... you really think my hair is growing fast? It's the normal 0.5".... that's about it but thanks for voting everybody.

I am not claiming APL until 7"
but it's cool/interesting to know that many of you see 6" as APL...
There is a big gap between SL and APL...
(6" on me... that's 1 year of growth)
I get why people would be very anxious to claim something
It seems like an eternity to reach APL...
but I think it's because from SL to APL is one of the largest gaps...
(besides HL to WL)
there should be a word for the in between point so people can claim it...
going a whole year without being able to have acheived a goal is
kind of disheartening... :sad: :yep:
I propose... BSLAPL... Between Shoulder Length and Arm Pit Length
the point when you reach the midpoint of SL & APL... :look:

I second this proposal!! Additionally, I propose one for between APL and BSL; BAPLBSL if you will...

I hear that hump is a killer too.
 
I voted 6 because even though all your hair is not at 6...a good majority of it is and it looks full. If 7 is APL...then at what length would you need be BSL---7.5 inch?

LOL I agree.

Along the same train of thought, I always wondered why more people don't use CBL - Collar Bone Length (the clavicle) as a milestone since it sits right in between SL and APL.

I admit I voted 7 inches. I didn't claim APL until all of my nape hair touched it when straightened...while dry. But then again, that's just me.

Well...my hair grows the normal 0.5"...
It's just that I am able to retain most/all of it...
I went a whole year without trimming before...
I haven't trimmed since I BC'ed... and that
was a BC not a trim... I don't plan to trim
until July 2009... but I may do some search & destroy
on some split ends if I find any

I probly wont call APL until my hair reaches it w/out shrinking ..but that's me

I'm like that too... I want to claim it at 7" but you can see by the poll... I've been outnumbered... they say I can claim it... but I'm still not ready...

I had always planned to officially call it at 6.5 or 7.
I was just curious to see other LHCFers opinions...

I'm in marketing... we love polls and statistics...
It's not super serious just an excuse to make a poll and
share my new pic :look: I'm kind of a poll-a-holic.

I did find it interesting that some people actually voted for 8" & 9"...
which would be BSL on me.

Honestly, I'd say you can claim APL since a good portion of your hair is hitting the mark, however imo you aren't full APL. Just your back nape layer is APL, the rest has some catching up to do.

My hair grows the SAME way. I'm about 3 inches from APL only in the nape. The crown and sides are just barely scraping SL.

I can't imagine that it would even matter to anyone what to call your length, your hair is pretty and healthy and that's that :)
