When I left the salon today.

As I was leaving I was paying and the lady at the register (I think she is a manager?) complemented me and said, "Your hair is very pretty" while checking me out. I said thank you.

She proceeded to tell me about some referral program of theirs, and stopped mid sentence while staring at my hair to say "You know, hair is really REALLY pretty..."

I said thank you again.

She says, "You know that's hereditary, right?"

I look up from signing my bill and just look at her and she repeats, "I'm just saying...that's hereditary."

???

Huh?

But I was pre-occupied with getting back to work so I dashed out the salon. But later I was like, "Huh?" Why would you say that?

It only matters how you look when you're walking out!!!

Mediocre + Works in a Salon = Trying to convince herself that only genetics played a role in why her hair doesn't look pretty like yours!

Seems like she was doing the good old "compliment, wrapped in a insult trick"
By saying "you hair is really pretty" she was throwing a compliment....
then she messed up when she went on to say "that's hereditary"...as if there's NO WAY on earth your hair could be that pretty if it wasn"t alil "cherrokee" dashed in ya bloodline somewhere lol. that's jst my little two cents, though .

Yep, she did do a good job. They're just plain ol bangs, but I'm excited cuz I never cut my hair short enough in the front to be considered having actual bangs, lol.
