My edges :wallbash: they've come in some, but are still veeerrryyy thin :ohwell: I'm using JBCO, I rub a dime size on them 3-4 nights a week...

I voted for my edges and crown. I started having issues with my crown after a highlighting incident. My edges have always been a problem because of braids, I guess... These issues are getting better because of Nu-Gro. Old school method of greasing my scalp is helping alot!

My problem area is definately my edges. After years of braids and relaxing edges to blend with weave, my poor edges have paid the price for vanity

they're now thinner (especially on the right side) and shorter than they should be. I'm working on it with a mn/sulphur8/castor oil/peppermint oil mix, hoping to stimulate some growth up in there!

Since this dern post-partum shedding, definitely the edges/temple area! Let's see.... moisturizing, garlic oil, and pretty much trying to just leave it alone and let the edges come back in naturally.

When I was relaxed I would say my crown. It was always dry and short and frizzier than the rest of my hair. As a natual I would say my crown is still causing me some problems but not much. My hair seems to be a mix of 3b 3c 4a. With the 4a hair in the crown area. The crown are is usually dryer and when I first bc'd was just a big puff. Seems that since I have been dc'ing more and cowasing daily it is softer and curlier.

I voted "Ends" a while back, but I need to change my vote to "crown". I have my ends under control now, but my crown is STILL a mess. That area of my hair is hard to explain. It has a wirey brittle texture to it, but it is also more fluffy than the rest of my hair. That area is more prone to breakage and it seems like no matter how much moisture I put on it there is no difference. That area is also shorter, has more shedding, and is always more tangled than the rest of my head.

Wow!!! Me too.....the crown is a trip, :ohwell:. It's a totally different texture than the rest of my hair, what to do, what to do???

Where I can finger twist my nape and front and side edges of my hair, forget about doing that for the crown, that bad boy is just a frizzy, half curl monster if try that. :wallbash:

How do you ladies deal with the variation of textures in your hair?

My super dry and coarse crown. It feels like a brillo pad sometimes, but I'm learning how to combat it with extra TLC, more conditioner, and extra moisture during the week

Crown. It's dry, brittle, and breaks very easily. It's been a problem since I started documenting my hair in May 07. I also damaged my front edges with wigs during the winter. I cut a lot of the top off and I am trying to stretch for 6 months to give my crown a break.

The back of my hair is fine. It's almost like I have 2 different heads of hair - the healthy back, and the damaged top.

LOL, that is my hair in the front of my head. About 4 inches of the top going near the crown. Its a pain in the @ss!!! Ive tried so many techniques, oh well.

My right temple is acting up. maybe cause i sleep on my right side most... dunno.

I can only tend to it and pray some more.

My nape has always been a problem for me. Right now, it's not bad but it could do with some thickening so I've gone back to Megatek and JBCO and I plan on not touching up that area next go round. My front edges aren't bad either, but they just need to thicken up, as well. I keep both areas well moisturized and try to be gentle.

My edges are my biggest problem, particularly on the right side.

I've read this entire thread & I've noticed that a few other ladies have issues w/ their edges on the right side, too.

I've been rubbing an Ayurvedic oil on them.

My problem area is in the middle of the back of my head (not the nape, but not the crown...right in between the two). The last time I got my touch up my stylist commented on this area she was like "your hair is really healthy but you have a weak spot down the middle of the back of your head"!

Here is what it looks like!!!:wallbash: I'm working really hard on resurrecting the hairs in this area. Hopefully by my next touch-up I will see an improvement. :yep:

My problem is my edges and the front of my head where my hairline meets m forehead. It's very wisoy there and it itches alot. When I was natural I didn't have this problem.

I have 2 problem areas, my crown because it is prone to breakage and scalp soreness; and my ends, they are narly.

oooh i feel you on the soreness in the crown area -- this area of my head is a weird texture, and tends to be more fragile and prone to breakage. not sure what to do with it... :perplexed

this also makes it hard to do protective styles that leave the crown exposed, which i tend to do because my edges have permanent bald spots and ponytails cause more breakage :nono:

My crown...well part of my crown anyway. I have to take special care moisturising that area. It has to be moist 24/7.

My crown is coarser than the rest of my head and is more prone to tangles. I have to be extra gentle with that area.

Where's the selection for my whole head??
I'm 6 months post (transitioning) and right about now, I'm not feeling nothing on my scalp!!!

It's my:

Crown~ that sucker is a different texture from the rest of my head. It's thinner and I have to be extra careful when I'm detangling.

Nape~ if I wear corn rows that sucker will be broken off once I take the braids down. So I just ask the braider to braid close to the nape and braid the nape area across.

My sides~ that sucker just grows S.L.O.W

my problem, is the nape, and the left side right above the ear.. its so strange.. the nape has been growing back since using the MN, it went from bald in early April to 1.5 to almost 2 inches now.

It was my crown but now it has moved to the left side of my head, not on the temple but just the left side at the front!!!???:perplexed Sometimes I think my hair is possessed by Satan:yep:. I condition wash it every morning and comb it out cause my hair gets MAD if I don't comb it every day and then I put leave in conditioner in it every day to style. I don't loose alot of hair so I guess I shouldn't worry. I just want all my hair to look alike and not just 3/4 of it. Any suggestions???

My probleme area is my crown. It is thin so I ensure I take my vits and make sure there is no tension/pulling in that area
