Hey ladies...vote for your favorite pure butter and let us know how you use it and why you love it.

Shealoe. Its softens and moisturizes. It is a great mix-in for lackluster products and a great pomade.

Thanks...so far I've only tried shea so I don't wanna vote yet. Next week I'm ordering shealoe, mango, and avocado. I can't wait!

I do like shealoe, but I have been LOVING hemp seed for scalp massages pre-poo. My scalp never gets dry like it used to.

I really love the texture of the shealoe. It's really smooth. I have a few others I want to try before I vote.

I can't vote yet either. I'm modifying some some recipes, so I'll be testing:
-Shealoe
-Kokum
-Palm Red
-Olive
-Sweet Almond
-Hemp Seed
-Avocado
-Sal
-Coffee

I'll be using different configurations to make a variety of pomades.

shea is good for me. I like it much better than the avocado and sal butter I tried before. I want to try soy next

Thanks for starting this thread! ;) I've been thinking about using a butter on my hair but I cannot decide which one to use! So many ladies here have success with a lot of the butters in your poll!

Where can I buy shealoe butter ladies?
I ordered mine from "From Nature With Love" also.

I like Shealoe, Avocado, Wheat Germ, and Shea.

(Still have to try Sweet Almond and Hemp Seed.)

*I do not like the hard butters Mango and Cocoa.

I love butters. I'm torn between 2, though. My first love is Shealoe, but Avocado is slowly becoming my favorite. Avocado is sooo moisturizing.

I have Sweet Almond butter also, but I don't think i will repurchase it. My hair felt soft, but a bit gummy. When I co-washed the next morning, my hair had that gummy feeling when I was rinsing.

ETA: I went on and voted Avocado.

You know I was waiting on you to come through here!! (and Camillia!)
I have Avocado butter in my hair now. I am not sure yet if I like this better than the Shealoe. I will give it a few days.

I like it right now. But I did put it on and bun my hair up. I am waiting to see how my hair look and feel when I take it out. Again, I know you dont give a  very easily on a product. So I know it has to be good. Once Camilllia raved about this butter, I had to try it. I didnt know you were using this one too. (Why you holding out on a sista!? That's all I wanna know. Why?:p )

I love avocado butter. It's so creamy and I love the way it feels on my hair after I moisturize. I want to try shealoe butter but I'm trying to exorcise this pj demon - so I'll take eveyone's word on how good it is.

I've been using avocado butter for a long while now, thanks to Iris. She hipped me to it and I really love it. But I have two favorites. I also like hemp seed butter a lot.

I use my butters on wet hair after I cowash. I usually put whichever one I'm using on after I've cowashed and detangled my hair. I smoooth it in and then put my hair up with a clip and go about my day. Later, I usually let my hair down to air dry more. If I am consistent with this, my hair...even my ends...is soft and moisturized.

I clarify as needed. This morning I mixed coconut oil with avocado butter and I really liked it.

I guess I am going to have to try hair butters now. I think I am offically a PJ.:D I really want to try Avocado since everyone is talking about how moisturizing it is. I need all the moisture I can get.:ohwell:
The first step to recovery is knowing that you have a problem. Step 1 down 11 more steps to go.

:wallbash: I did it to myself again!

I've tried Shea and Shealoe, both of which I liked. I have Avocado on my to order list tomorrow...I'll revisit this thread after I give it a whirl. I have hemp oil which I really like so I may try the butter in that one too.

Shea butter is my favorite, but I melt it down and add avocado and camellia oil to it and whip it to lighten and soften it up so it is not pure, although I love pure shea butter by itself. I just cannot help messing with (adding, mixing up, etc) stuff. Mowrah is my second favorite butter. I am just now trying olive butter and wheat germ butter, but my hair likes butters better in cooler weather, so I am not using much butter now that is it 99 degrees outside.
