I always mix some natural oasis oil in it and it keeps the shine all day ..

and IF i do this, I will wash with shampoo about 2 days afterwards

Since you're relaxed crlsweetie I'd say go with the glaze. I loved it when I was relaxed but now that I'm natural it's not heavy enough to hold my hair down so I use the Fantasia gel. The Jam always got too greasy for me.

I'm in love with Smooth Edges. I read about it over at BHM and still can't believe how well it works. I've never been a gel person, but stuff is a staple now.

The best i have ever used is the brown gel at my bss. I tried all the other, "healthier" ones, but i didn't like them. I like gel that is really watery and not too thich. The brown gel i use (they have a couple brands) has no alcohol, and it has protein which i like since i don't use protein conditioners or treatments. It also doesn't dry hard like a helmet and doesn't flake or dry my hair out.

Wet Line Xtreme gel is the best ive used and ive tried several. it smells great and lays down my hard to hold hair. plus it gives me unmatched shine wet or dry. i love it so much!

I love the Fantasia Thick N' Shine (brown) and I also like the other Fantasia IC gels (blue and sparklelites). They all work good, but on my 4a/b hair the brown works best and it doesn't flake.

My favorite gel is Aura Hypoallergenic gel that I get from Sally's. A little goes a long way and it holds my hair well without making it sticky or product-y. It's also good for wearing my hair out, soft hair with no crunch.

I used to love that Gel, I went to sally's looking for it last month and the lady told me it was discontinued....I need to look at a few more sallys.

silk elements gel in the red bottle. Not to heavy, very light, washes out easily, and does not promote breakage. Better than that gel my momma used to use on me that left my hair DRY IS A BONE, and scalp flaky and itchy!

I like Elasta QP Styling Glaze!:yep: It does contain mineral oil for those who like 100% pure products but it holds my edges better than Aloe Vera gel. I would rather use the brown gel for more control before I use the aloe vera gel.

I use both elasta qp and fantasia. I prefer fantasia only because its not greasy. If elasta qp glaze wasnt so greasy it would definately be my fave as it holds really well, defines and has excellent shine. However, it seems to melt after a while and leaves my hairline really greasy. Plus it also kinda dries out my hair, makes it sort of have a sqeaky clean feel when i wash it out.

When my edges get outta control I use these three things to "gel" it down:

water-based moisturizer (just a dab to get it wet)
IC Fantasia gel
Elasta QP Glaze

I usually use NTM leave in as my moisturizer or Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1...

Then I tie down with a scarf for the night and wahlaaa....my edges are totally slicked down in the AM....

4a/b relaxed

I voted "Other"... I haven't tried the gels listed in the poll on my hair... I like Citre Shine Gel!

Same here. The kind in the clearish orange container with the pump. Only thing I don't like is that it flakes if you scratch. I also like World of curls gel.

I like this gel from Qhemet Biologics. I can't think of the name right now (I'm at work) but it's something like a soft tea gel. It's natural and I like it because it doesn't leave a residue and it holds my little edges down without being too heavy.

:clapping:I use IC Fantasia (blue for extra moisture), but I am going to try the thick and shine based on the rave reviews...:clapping:
