I'm in between. All of my hair is passed shoulderlength. And some of it just passed armpit length. So I'm shoulder to armpit/armpit to brastrap/clasp.

Now I'm armipt length to brastrap length.

I'm new to the group. I have 3A brastrap length hair. Been using Wave Nouveau finishing lotion to wear curly style. I love the glycerin and dimethicone, but I can't find the finishing lotion in my area anymore, any suggestions on a similar product? Please help.

Right now my hair is hitting the top of my shoulders. Big big deal for me....I'm sure this length was only achieved because of all you ladies and the braid challenge which I started in February :-) Next is to get it it all to shoulder length and beyond

Hi everyone, I'm new on the board. My hair is relaxed and about 4 inches from brastrap length, which is my first goal. Right now I'm trying to figure out some ways to speed that up.

relaxed..finally shoulder length again after my big CHOP!
right now, i'm trying to keep my hair in braids (right now twists) until my hair grows back out.

Hair type: 4A(destroyed)

Bald. This is my 3rd shave this year due to 18 yrs. of bad hair care. I remember my first perm when I was 3. And have been coloring my hair since I was 12. In the end I ended up with a bloody scalp and and 3 huge bald patches on the side of my head. After the second cut my scalp had healed and the bald patches started to fill in. I went for my 3rd cut this month so now it will grow back even and healthy.

Hang in there CatSuga. You are new to the forum and you will learn lots of good things that will have your tresses long and bouncy. I have learned some good things here. I am also a Cosmotology Student (changing careers by 30ish) and this information I will take to my clients.

My hair ranges from 5(nape) to 9 inches(up top) My hair has always been longer at top. Recently learned to tie scarf in front to prevent bottom from breaking. So I'm happy i found this site. I've been growing my hair successfully the past few months.

My hair is 4a, relaxed, and shoulder length...not sure about the exact inches because I have never measured my hair.

15 inches

At the time I posted this, I had no idea how to really measure my hair. I still don't really. My hair is at the middle of my shoulder blades in the back when wet, and a couple of inches past my collar bones in the front.

when are we going to start a new poll so we can see how far alot of us have gotten? hopefully the groups towards the bottom of the lists will have more votes!

Maybe wait until the end of the year and have yearly updates or break it down into updates every six months. Those who update should find their previous length reply and quote or repost it in the updates and then add the new length so it's easier for everyone to see/read the changes in all of our hair.

Hello everyone, I'm new and this is my inaugural post.
I am new to this "taking care of my hair" thing so i'm not sure of my typw but it seems to be a 4a/b but mostly b.
It is currently around brastrap length and varies between than and a few inches below b/s depending on what time of year it is.
No one in my family has long hair and so I have been pretty much on my own up till now on how to take care of it and have lost what I believe to be several feet of hair because of damaging processes and having to start completely over several times.
But now I am on the right track, my hair is thick and I am aiming for waist lenght hopefully within the next year. I know I can do it! As long as I stay away from those darn stylists and cut down on my wet-combing.
Wish me luck!

I think my grade of her is between a 3b-4a type.

It is a bob length right now, The shortest is above my ear and the longest length is the the back of my neck.

I am wondering how can I keep my hair very moisturize because I have so many different colors in my hair, it has a tendancy to become very dry.

wow i've shaved my head 2 times the last being jan2000
currently wearing dreads that are 10 inches in the crown, 5 inches on the side and 8 inches in the back

i was thinking of posting a new poll on dec 31 of this year,, cause to me yearly updates are better,, if we were to do a 6 month update that only gives everyone 3 inchs of extra growth and it really isnt enough to take one from one catorgorie to the next... by doing a yearly update everyone is gettin a fair chance (6inches) to move to the next catagorie an to see a lot of subtantial growth.:)

This would be a good idea to do a yearly update. We can all see if there will be a difference in the amount for each category...like a shift from shoulder to brastrap, who knows! /images/graemlins/weird.gif
