I am 4b and just did the BC! I Was transitioning but got anxious to see my natural hair and just chopped away! No regrets! Anyone else a type 4b with promising stories.
The other hair types seem to have less breakage and more length. I'd like to hear from someone who relates to my hair type....

Im now 20 1/4" (5" from bra strap) im thinking of taking off 1". Ive been growing out 17" of damaging, color fried hair started Oct 2002 when i stumbled on this board. I have 3" of color left.

I sometimes get depressed when i look at my two 3" bundles (I should dump em)

and not counting the numerous trims and dustings. I wonder if id be waist lenght now - but i think not, it would be veeerry thin - them twice a month coloring did me something bad

Type 4a/b hair can be as long as any other hair type it just takes more work to get it there. My hair is 17 inches I hope to get it to bra strap by the end of the year, begining of next. Then to waist.

I'm new here ((^,_,^)) Right now my hair is about 3" long. I had cut all my hair off in September to go napptural prior to the big chop my hair was past my shoulders approaching bra clasp. Well I have decided to relax again and right now my present goal is shoulder length. Not sure how long it will take me to get there, hopefully by the end of the year.
