what do you use to manage your new growth. I am really trying to strech my relaxer for 3 months, and my hair is used to being relaxed every 2 months. So please tell me what conditioners or leave ins you use to strech. Thanks

i wash my hair every 4-6 days and wet set.

deep condition with heat fr 20 min with mizani moisturefuse and/or keracare humecto. if i want a protein conditioner, affirm 5in 1 or mizani fulfyl

leave in's are either giovanni direct or silicon mix, and i mix a little biosilk
in with either. i find silicon mix leave in is really great on that new growth.

daily moisturizer is keracare headress. again, i put a little biosilk with it. my hair just responds well to it. i also put mtg my new growth, as close to my scalp as possible without totally saturating it. i apply it with my fingers, twice before my next wash.

also, i try to wear my hair in a protective style so i dont have to touch or fix it as often, and before you know it, 5 days have past and its time to wash again. keeping it moisturized and the ends protected is my main concern.

~Giovanni Direct Leave-In (TOTALLY makes new growth manageable)
~Paul Mitchell The Detangler (cuz the tangles get nasty around 10 weeks post)
~CO washes mid-week with conditioner cocktails (keeps the line of demarcation moisturized)
~Wild Growth Oil (keeps new growth soft & moist)

Hey divine what kind of conditioner coctail do you use?
also do you think that the detangler, detangles better than con?
Thanks

It depends on what I'm trying to get rid of at the time lol...
Lately it's been DDTA, Redken So Long, Paul Mitchell The Detangler, and EVOO. It always has Paul Mitchell The Detangler b/c that's just the only way I can get through detangling right now. As far as the other cons, I'd recommend DDTA, ApHOGEE Balancing Moisturizer, Neutrogena DDC, Humecto, Kenra, Elucence, J/A/S/O/N cons, Giovanni 50:50, Kiss My Face Whenever, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Con. There are a number of cons that would work for the con cocktail. Just mix your favorite moisturizing con with something you're trying to use up or something less expensive. The keys are 1) using some kind of oil in it (i.e. EVOO, castor etc) 2) deep conditioning w/ heat for at least 20 min. (my personal experience, not a universal law)

I know that adding The Detangler to my cons has been REALLY helpful. I just add two or three dollops to my con mix for that week, and apply as usual. My hair has been detangling like a dream at 14 weeks post.

i use s curl on my very coarse, thick 4b natural hair and it does make my hair so much softer. it doesnt feel like a brillo pad anymore. i would recommend this to anyone who would like to manage their new growth. i wish i knew about it when i had a perm.

Once I get to week 10 I pull out my BIG BOY, which is Silicone Mix the things it do to the NG I can only explain, it makes my entire head moisture soft and my NG can airdry w/o reverting like normally. I guess about week 4-6 I start using my S-curl mix to keep it moisturized and I also wash every 4 days now or mainly thurs. and mon. I also apply BB oil moisturizer and some type of oil to my entire head including NG 3x's a day. I did a pre poo today w/EVOO for the first time and I love the way my hair felt so I will definatel be doing this, along w/a conditioner concoction w/EVOO and honey added (I did a DC on my mothers 8 month post relaxer hair and it took it from brillo to hello. The moisture it put in and the softness was a 360 degree turn).
