I swear by moisture DC and low manipulation. Previously, I saw breakage and it was mostly due to a hot comb my mum used at one point. I never did a protein treatment until 2 weeks ago and it has stopped the breakage dead in its tracks; only after one use. My hair isnt a fan of protein so i dont intend to use it often.

I dont know what convinced me to do that, but i do not use heat on my hair at all. I air dry and thats it. Also what helped me, that i did not know about before LHCF, was sealing after moisturizing. I can honestly say that after beign on here for 3-4 weeks my hair is 90% healthier.

clarify, usually when i have breakage its from build up. Then I follow with using Aphogee 2 min treatment for a few weeks until its back together. Only Clarify once a month

Usually during the month I use a combination of of Chi Keratin Mist, Aphogee green tea and a moisturizer of course to prevent breakage. Chi Keratin is amazing.... (my hair really likes protein)

Good protein (Affirm 5 in 1 or Motions CPR) under heat followed by a good moisturizing Deep Con (Yes to Carrots Mask, Garnier 3 min mask, Lustrasilk, Keracare Humecto) under heat, plus a good leave-in or full-strength and always sleeping with a silk scarf or satin bonnet.

Protein and moisture has helped me tremendously! But too much protein sometimes leaves my hair really dry, so I only do light proteins from time to time....

Using Nexxus Emergencee or Nexxus Keraphix, Joico K-Pak (or similar product) without Plastic Cap and Heat 10-15 minutes.

Also helpful would be: Implementing a Protein/Moisture Balanced Regimen.:yep:

Either Co-Washing with Protein & DC with Moisture.

Or....Moisturizing Co-Wash ---Followed Up with DC with 30 minutes Protein/ 30 minutes Moisture as well as Introducing a Weekly Reconstructor into your regimen as well.

IMO: Should all be Helpful.

I voted for Protein before a moisturizing DC. I've experienced breakage for the first time recently. I have used the info that I've found on LHCF and this is what I did:

DC overnight with Nexxus Humectress, moisturize hair and ends and seal w/oil, wraped hair religiously. I did this again 4 days later and managed to get the moisture back (hair and ends haven't felt this since I relaxed in march) I will be following up with a light protein pre-poo for the next couple of washes followed by DC (my hair needs less protein than moisture).

I intend to do an Aphogee 2 step a week or 2 before my next relaxer due at the end of Dec. HTH

For me, keeping the hair detangled and free of sheds. Avoid plaiting to the tips of the hair. Breakage, as opposed to shedding, has do w/ hair getting caught up in itself, both sheds and otherwise. It's trying to get them apart that causes breakage...avoid it before this happens.

Protein followed by Moisturizing deep conditioner...

I do nexuss emergencee or sebastians penettrait 2 times a month and a light protein like aphogee 2 minute weekly...I always use a light protein treatment weekly.

I do get breakage once in a while due to my very overprocessed relaxed ends. Using henna with an egg added has stopped the breakage fastest and for the longest time.
