about a bridal a bridal shower being held at a hotel suite? Is it okay or is it tacky?

I'm thinking that the party itself can be held on the balcony & living/sitting area and a close group of us could spend the night and have a pseudo bachelorette night.

Resolution: I've decided to have a dinner party at one of our favourite hotels.

Seems legit. Not tacky in my opinion, you could have a spa day the next day for the close group.

But I'm also 27 and not UE so what do I know? Someone might come in a say it's a bad idea.

By suite ... like a room, not the conference center? I guess it depends how nice the suite is. It doesn't sound tacky.

Depends on the hotel... if it's a 5 star hotel or a really unique boutique hotel, then yes perfect! Tres chic....

If it's a Holiday Inn Express, then tacky. Not cute.

It's a nice suite at a high end hotel. The thing is the shower will be mostly aunts, mothers, grandmothers, throw in a great aunt or two lol and other late 20s, early 30s ladies. However, I think those of us in our 20s and 30s would like to party a little for real after lol.

This is why I asked. The groom's family is really bougie and I don't want to be looked at like :look: after

OOOOOOOO, you all might need to just party after then.

I think they'll be impressed if it's a 5-star place. They'll probably start using suites for parties now lol. Anyway, it's perfect for a lil after party as well. Good thinking, OP.

It will be 5 star, modern decor, has a bedroom, living/sitting room and a furnished balcony.

Second question (I'm not used to this sorry in advance), can I serve alcohol at the shower itself? I'm thinking champagne, wine and maybe baileys? I will also have non-alcoholic wine.

I think it's a great idea OP. I've been to a shower that was held at a hotel suite and it was classy and fun!

Great idea!! Showers are usually held at someone's home right? I would much rather be in a high end hotel.

As a matter of fact , last century when I got married ; ) I wanted to have a small wedding and then have an open house in a hotel suite where my guests could come and go and have cake & champagne . However, my "friends" talked me out of it . I regret it to this day.

Your idea sounds great.

^^

I get carried away lol. It's on a weekday so I figured that at home will involve a lot of clean up and set up, time that I didn't have and getting people to leave will be a problem. So, I called the hotel and they sounded excited and allowed me a section of the restaurant for my guests and that I could use my own centerpieces etc. and play quiet table games, once it's not "raunchy" (their words not mine lol). All I would have to pay for is food per person, minimal set up and no clean up. The bride was all on board with this idea.

Then I decided to look at the rooms and the executive suite is so nice! Plus, more privacy, we could spend the night, have finger foods and the cost will be the same. Plus I could flex my event styling skills lol.

I say if there's enough room for all your guests then it sounds like a great idea! You've already checked out the suite so I'm sure you've already thought about adequate seating though.

^^^
It looks like a high-end apartment. There is a full living room area witha couch set, a bar area and a balcony with an outdoor patio set plus a lot of room for persons to walk about etc.

I've usually done a light alcoholic punch or mimosas for a bridal shower that was thrown during the day. Depending on your crowd, I'd see nothing wrong with serving alcohol.

Is the living room big enough for everyone to gather at one time during your games opening of presents? It really sounds like a great party though...I agree with the other posters. ...I wanna go! Lol

The area is similar to this

except that there is no dining set and you can walk from the living area onto the balcony where there is another full seating area, lounge chairs and another bar area.

I want to have some games but more of a social party because many of the guests will be flying in and I don't want to overwhelm them and it will be much of a meet and greet. The games will be more of an ice-breaker to get the party started and people mingling.

I'll ask her if his family drink. I think I may stick to fruit juices and tea though and have sparkling something to toast.
