What Bandwagon did you NEVER jump on? What Technique did you NEVER adopt?

I never got involved in topical growth aids, skala, jherri curl juice, baking soda/salt. I never tried dominican conditioners but I want to!

Co-washing
Wash n go's
wet bunning
no poo
skala
megatek/ovation
henna/cassia
baggying
hide your hair
no trimming
Lace front/half-wigs/full wigs/braids for growth
baking soda
Ayurveda

Miconazole nitrate.....too scared

No pooing.....not for me, my scalp gets dirty

Bunning....hell I can't bun why do it

BKT....might as well dip my head in a toxic waste/aloe mix

Baking soda rinses....ABS clarifies just fine

ANYTHING kimmaytube (that includes the use of those pH strips)

diatomaceous earth....another thing I feared. I saw ppl using it to kill roaches with.

Steamer challenge...hell Im too broke more power to the ppl that can afford one. I use steam everyday anyway (in the shower, baggying at night, and when working out)

Skala....seems like a simple product to me. I would have tried it but then I was like, nah

I did jump on the oil rinsing bandwagon and it turns out its the best thing that ever happened to my hair. I barely ever have problems with dryness now.

I also tried co-washing cause since I have started back working out and I sweat profusely it feels better on my head than just water alone but still shampoo once a week.

Im doing the growth challenge just to see how far my natural hair can get.

Hide your hair challenges (or any challenges)

Cooter cream

Henna (I brought some but too scared to use it sits in my closet)

baking soda rinses

Baby vomit #idied

Way too many to name. I am too scared my hair will fall out.

Let's see:

Henna (not yet anyway)
Growth aids and pills (don't see it happening)
No Poo (I low poo all day but no poo can't do it, I use too much product)
Vaseline- (this one brings back too many greasy memories. UGGH!)
Baking Soda

Thank God for a little restraint because there have been plenty of others that I have made a mad dash from the computer straight to the store .

I never jumped on the Surge bandwagon, because I didn't know any better. By the time I got here that was the new stuff to try, but it was sold out of every store. I use to see it all the time and then it was a wrap after that. I wish that I would of bought it when I had the chance, oh well. I will have to wait until it comes back in the stores or somebody else invents a duplicate.

So many...
Mixing a bunch of butters and oils...I'm lazy.
Monistat...never felt comfortable with that
Cowashing instead of shampoo...never felt comfortable with that either
Henna...again too lazy
The Reneice craze...her work is excellent but high prices, having to book months in advance, standing in line for hours for a consultation, traveling across country, etc? Nah son:nono:. *Direct all hate mail to my PM*
Lunar trimming...thought about it but too lazy to research it
Natural products...$67,583 + shipping for 8 ounces of juices and berries that has a shorter shelf life than my $3 Pantene? Nah son.
"Out" styles...I'm too lazy, they don't last long enough, and my wash and gos look better
The Pibbs...my LadyDazey works just fine.

I will add more later...

Cowashing- Left my hair greasy and the only halfway decent results I got with were expensive conditioners. Not worth it.
Baggying- Where does that liquid come from? My ponytail does not sweat. I was not pleased and a little grossed out
Henna- Just no
No shampoo- Ha! I have to scrub my hair once a week.
Growth aids- I just dont see risking the hair I have (and my health) to grow more hair. It sounds quite silly to me actually if you say it outloud.
Prepooing-Finally tried it. Hated it. Dried my hair out like straw.
Stretching- Right now its a no. In the future with the help of a stylist maybe.

i never jumped on:
baking soda
salt in conditioner
acv
growth aids
no shampoo(i love shampooing my hair)
baggying
kimmaytube

coochie cream for hair growth. though every time i go through the feminine hygiene aisle at CVS I do pause :scratchch:

weaves for growth.

I have jumped on some bandwagon mentioned here but couldn't commit to long term b/c I didn't feel comfortable or didn't see any results. I don't mess w/ anything that changes my hair color so henna is out the question. Coochie cream made me feel nasty (only did it for like a week). Mtg made my hair smell like smoked bacon (an ex co-worker made a comment of smelling smoked bacon while I was in the elevator), pre pooing is a waste of time, megatek and sulfur I continue to use, kimmaytube leave in I never wanted to try and co-washing has its benefits as long as I shampoo also.

Little help...Does popular practice always = bandwagon?

I only included the odd things in my definition of the word (vagisil, sperm, "suspiciously" over endorsed new products).
