Wedding Photographer-How Did You Find Yours?

I have my videographer locked down but I'm still on the hunt for a photographer. I want a photojournalism style with a little bit of editorial thrown in. I can't stand those lame shoulder-to shoulder wedding photographs. I'm spending some time today on Wedding Wire to see if anyone's portfolio catches my eye.

How did you choose your wedding photographer and were you happy with the final product?

I first looked on yelp to read reviews. Then if they had a website I went there to look at their work. From there I picked 5 to call and "interview". From there I asked those if I could come in a do a few test shots and to look at their portfolio in person. The one's that said no I eliminated. After that I made sure they had my date available then went in to do the test shots and see their work. From there picked my 2 favorites.....did cost comparison and then chose from there. HTH's
